JOB UPDATE....................ReleaseMe

I started my current job just a little over a year ago now. I basically provide customer service for various insurance companies and help set up new accounts. I work from my home, which has been a really great change for me. And my hours aren't too bad either.

During the holidays work slowed to almost a halt. That was really dreadful especially being during the holiday time, but we pushed through and I was even given a holiday bonus that I wasn't even expecting. Wow how things have made a turn a round since then though. We have been so super busy. Even on the days where I only work 3 or 4 hours, I'm still doing 15-20 interviews.

Yesterday we were so busy, that my supervisor asked me to stay over and help out, which I was more than happy to do. I ended up working nine hours yesterday. That's the longest shift I've had so far. I know nine hours seems like a typical work shift but when you consider that is nine straight hours of talking on the phone, whew. I do end up losing my voice sometimes from talking so much. lol

I'm really pleased that everything is going so well with my job and for the company that I work for. In a time when so many are losing jobs and companies are going under, I'm thankful that I work for a company that is still rapidly growing and successful.

Date: 1/29/2012 8:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    Glad things are going so well for you. You must be exhausted after so many hours on the phone! My husband has been doing a ton of teleconferences lately, some lasting as long as 2 hours and he says it's more tiring than physical labor.

Date: 1/29/2012 8:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    In my husbands case he has been doing his from his hotel room. Heck, sometimes I'll call his cell while he is in the middle of one he has going on a speaker phone, it usually involves about 5 to 10 people from all over, he'll step into the bathroom to talk to me. He says people will just ramble on and on. LOL
Date: 1/29/2012 8:31:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28848     I mostly talk to older people and the way the interviews are set up, it doesn't really allow for any chatty conversations, but occasionally I'll get a live one that goes on and on.
Date: 1/29/2012 8:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 24673    I'm so happy you are enjoying your job, but I don't know how you do it....talk so long, I mean. I wouldn't be able to do that. It's great going to work when you enjoy what you're doing.
Date: 1/29/2012 8:41:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28848    I'm not much of a talker either but what I do isn't really hard at all. I don't mind all of the talking especially when I know I'm getting paid for it.
Date: 1/29/2012 1:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 25390    I'd love to find a job like that! I recently lost my job and the economy where I live is proving that to be very hard for me. Way to go on all your hard work!
