i am looking for my birth father

i am twenty three years old my mother when i was three she gave me up she does not wknow who my father is and im looking for information but i dont know how to go about looking for him i tried by using my last name well come to find out my last nameis the man she was married to at the time not my father can someone please help me im needing to know who is my father and who do i look like.
