First God sent Jesus to redeem our sins and allow us into Heaven. That is why it's important only to belive in the Blood of Christ that will get us into Heaven. God gave us the ten commandments, and there are a lot of rules in the bible that we should follow. Proverbs is a great place to start Also Revelation will happen. But there are speficic things that have to happen that haven't yet. I know one is suppose to be rebuilding of the temple in Israel, which I believe is starting to take shape. There has to be peace in the Middle East and Israel. |

My thoughts are that God is OmniPotent which means He is All Powerful and can physically do anything. I believe He is also OmniPresent which means He Exists without any regard to human time dimensions. And, I believe He is OmniEscient which means He Knows Everything. Such a Being, so far removed from our humanly existence, is therefore quite far removed from human understanding, meaning, it is very difficult for us humans to comprehend the "whys" of all the world. Something I am fond of saying is, if anything that has happened, happened differently, can you be guaranteed that the person that is "you" would even exist? Further, what is "evil" or "bad" in human terms may take on no such connotation for God. Finally, whatever happens has to happen in order to fulfill God's Plan, not to be confused with God's Will . . . God Bless. |

Date: 12/20/2011 7:34:00 PM From Authorid: 19613 God intervenes in human affairs many times in the Bible, so it doesn't seem plausible to me to think that he cannot intervene now. Which would leave natural disasters/diseases and so on unexplained. I would suggest that they are best explained by the theory that God does not in fact exist. |

Joe and Deb have said it best. Jesus said "Deny me, and I will deny you before my Father". God gave us free will, yes, if we were all puppets on His string, then there would really be no point to life. We'd be born, grow up, live our life as dictated, and die. Free will is about doing what you want, and hopefully within the moral code instilled within you. I have no other Savior except my Lord Jesus Christ, and will never deny Him, nor be ashamed to love Him. I played Devil's advocate with my son tonight, for example. He's wavering on the Santa issue. He said "My problem is that I've never SEEN Santa, so how could I believe?" Now yes at 12, he's old enough to know the truth, although I still believe in the spirit of St Nick and the spirit of Christmas miracles. But I wanted to keep the magic alive a little longer, and I wanted to prove a point. So I asked him "Really now? Ok, I've never seen Jesus Christ walk this earth. The Bible was written allegedly by scholars, prophets, and disciples, not by Jesus Himself. So since I've never seen Jesus with my own two eyes, how do I know He exists?" My son was shocked that I would say such a thing, he said "MOM, how could you say such a thing?" I said "My point is, son, that my beliefs are built on FAITH. That's your answer." He got the point. So keep studying, come to YOUR determination of what your faith system is, and go with your heart. Revelations is a fascinating book, I have read it many times over in several versions. And let no one persuade you differently than what YOU feel in your heart is right. God bless...Melissa |
Date: 12/20/2011 10:58:00 PM From Authorid: 63201 Oh and to answer your question about "Why does God allow suffering?" He doesn't "allow" it per se, it's simply a test of our faith, a means to draw us closer to Him and rest in loving arms. If we never had trials in life, we wouldn't appreciate the beauty that surrounds us, and the simplest blessings in life. There are times when suffering is so seemingly unbearable, we think God has deserted us. But that's when He's standing closest to us, with his arms wide open, saying "Rest in Me". I've had too many miracles throughout the trials and sufferings in my life, to ever believe otherwise. |
Date: 12/20/2011 11:12:00 PM From Authorid: 10075 I have a faith in something bigger than me. Its so so big I, with my tiny human mind cannot ever comprehend it (though I do try) This creator gave life but I do not know if it shapes life. Life is ours to shape isnt it? Although I love life and all in it I do look to my last day on Earth with a twinkle of excitement. Who knows maybe even then there will just be more questions at the beginning of a new journey. |
Date: 12/21/2011 6:49:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 30051 I feel a little misunderstood..Regardless if I believe the mainstream interpretations of the Bible, I still have a deep and unwaivering love for Jesus. I do believe he was sent to save the world. I do believe he knew that he would be tortured and killed, yet he loved mankind so much that he came anyway. I have complete faith in Jesus. I do seperate our creator from him though. He is very mysterious to me so I am constantly seeking understanding. I do feel a deep and close connection with Jesus that I don't with our Creator. I know many Christians will say they are one and the same but I don't believe that. Yes, I do believe Jesus had God inside him, but I believe God created him a seperate being for a specific purpose. I'm okay with having wrong ideas because at least I am constantly seeking truth. It's when I think I have all the answers and stop searching that I'm in trouble. |
Date: 12/21/2011 7:00:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 30051 I'd like to comment on what Fiery Mom said about suffering. I'm gonna have to disagree. I don't believe God test's our Faith. To me that seems like a sick game and I know the God I love wouldn't do that. I believe all suffering comes from Satan and his minions and yes if we stray away from God, for whatever reason, we open ourselves up to attack. The farther away we get from the light, the deeper the darkness drags us. God does not force us to love him. So is that him allowing suffering? I guess some would say so but I believe he is always there waiting with open arms when we decide to come to him. That doesn't mean that if you love God enough you won't have pain and sorrow. I think you have better protection against Satans attacks and if you have love in your heart for God you are better equipped to deal with those attacks. |
Date: 12/21/2011 7:16:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 30051 Also I didn't mean he couldn't intervene spirtually or use his Angels to intervene. Ok how do I say this? I do believe he is omnipresent, which means he is everywhere at once, but in another dimension. If he was in this demension physically we would see him. I think that when we are in our human form we can't look upon God. He is to huge and immense for our human mind to comprehend. I'm thinking that if he did show himself to us on this dimension we'd explode or something crazy like that. Maybe it's different when we are in spirit form? Maybe that's why he's send Jesus and his Angels back here to destroy the dark side. He doesn't want to wipe out the planet. Just the evil on it and in it. I've seen plenty of doctrine on not being able to look upon God when he's in his true form...but that doesn't mean it's a fact. Just something to ponder. And you never know maybe this whole universal alignment that's coming with somehow shift of brains so that we can then look at God with out frying our brains.. |

Date: 12/21/2011 7:19:00 AM From Authorid: 4995 I believe God sent Jesus to die for our sins and save us and that He rose again on the third day. I truly believe it. I'm not brave enough to take a chance and think otherwise. I do know I've done such horrible things in my life I often wonder how He can forgive me for them so I waver a lot in my faith. I want to be whole and healed and clean and BELIEVE it even though the darkness tells me otherwise. G. |
Date: 12/21/2011 7:28:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 30051 I don't think feeling unforgivable is lack of faith. God knows that feelings are feelings and not facts. Not loving yourself or feeling guilty doesn't mean you love God any less. He forgives us always even when we can't forgive ourselves. He probably loves us even more when we feel such deep pain for what we've done. It's those that feel no remorse that he probably shakes his head at. I'm sure it does make him sad when we can't forgive ourselves. Guilt and shame are one of my biggest issues. It has consumed me my whole life. I know you didn't ask for advice CP but what I have started doing is writing it down..starting from the beginning. Every single thing I have ever felt guilt and shame over. When i'm done i'm going to have a burning ceremony. Believe it or not it does help and i'm only at age 11. |

tI think that we are here to learn. If you cause suffering to others, then in the afterlife, you will learn from the suffering you created. If you are suffering in this life, perhaps it's so that you can learn what it feels like. Experience can be a great way to learn. Overall, I think that we are here to learn to love. Sounds simple but it's not. Think about all the posts we see on this site and how many are people dealing with personal issues with others. If we had the capacity to love everyone, then there wouldn't be all these issues. Remember love your enemies. That's the one that I have trouble with. |

Cory, I am a Christian who does not put "God" status on Jesus. The Bible clearly says that Jesus did not equate himself to Our Father's status. The three "Omni's" I outlined above are the triunal nature of God, IMHO. He is All Physical Capable, All Mentally Knowing, and All Emotional Feeling. I do believe that Jesus may have had the All Knowing aspect within him, but not the other two. The rest of us humans do have PARTS of all three in us, but none of us are omni in any of these respects. God Bless. |

Why does God Allow me to adjust my neck? Sometimes just the right twist of my neck and I hear a cracking sound and I get instant relief from pressure that has been in place due to the misalignment. Why does God Allow the earth to experience earthquakes? Hmmmm. . . I KNOW! God Is the God of ALL. (Hint, hint: That means He is not just God to people, but to ALL). God Bless. |
