I usually see people ask if they can have/use an extra chair from your table. Yes, I think it was rude. Common courtesy seems to be slipping away in our society. |

...yes, common courtesy would dictate that he might have asked if the chair was in use even if obviously not. |

I think it was rude, he should have asked if he could take the chair. |

It was rude. Common courtesy would be to simply ask if that chair was in use before you take it for yourself. |

Actually, yes...it could be construed as rude. The guy, however, probably didn't even think about that. He just saw a chair that wasn't being used, and took it. One person sitting alone at a table for 4 without a Reserved sign or the chairs being tipped forward to indicate they are reserved for others might have made him think the chairs were available for the taking. Still, he should have made the effort to ask. |

well thank you all for your views that did mandate that this person was rude.
I felt ashamed for him and sorry for the person seated by himself. |

I think it was rude! He should have asked first, and what if he was waiting on more people? You see a lot of rude people these days..many don't care about being polite and respectful to others..it's sad. |

Mama Kat...I'm with you on this, I believe what the person did was rude. All you have to do is ask, "May I use this seat or is it allready taken?" Now hard is that?...Corolator |
