Haunted houses are a staple for Halloween, the kind people decorate and charge you to visit that is. Haunted houses are found all over and people shell out millions of dollars across the country to be scared by these often cheesy houses but there is one that is said to be so scary that no one has ever made it all the way through before turning back. The house is also one the most expensive haunted houses in the United States with prices at a staggering $50 per person. But there is a catch, if you make it out to the other end you get your money back. This was a challenge that Jack and his friends Bobby and Harrison couldn't pass up. Being stars on their high school football team they were afraid of nothing.
"You wont make it through the house," Sally, Jack's girlfriend and head cheerleader, said to the boys as they were discussing it in the hallway between classes. "No one has ever made it all the way through."
"Those people are all a bunch of losers," Jack replied, "It's all just a bunch of plastic monsters and paper ghosts, what's so scary about that."
"Well," said Sally, "I heard that is more than just a bunch of decorations. I heard it's a real haunted house and all the horrors that lay in wait are far too real."
"We'll see after school. If you want to come along and cheer me on feel free," Jack said winking at her.
"I am sure we would all love to see you three fail." The other girls that were standing around Sally agreed and before the day was over half the school was ready to follow Jack and his friends to the haunted house.
Later that night Jack drove his buddies to the haunted house located about well outside the city limits. Waiting for them were several of their class mates, "You guys ready to see me ace this?"
"If you guys actually get out the exit I will give you 50 bucks each," one kid shouted.
"Then we will see you at the exit," Bobby said smugly tugging on the collar of his black leather jacket. The three of them paid their $50 each and entered through the creaky old door.
"You kids sure you don't want to go in as well," the creepy ticket taker said "Your not scared are you?"
"No man we aint scared, we just here to see these boobs fail," one kid said and the others laughed at his remark. The group of nine kids walked around the house to the exit to eagerly await their friends.
Inside the haunted house all was going fine. The house was indeed well made, in fact it even frightened them a little bit. The characters in the house were very realistic looking along with the sounds and even the cold breeze that blew through the house. After about a half hour of walking past animatronic monsters backed by ghastly sounds they saw the sign pointing to the staircase leading to the exit.
"See guys that was nothing," Jack said sweating.
"Yeah you might take that look of fear off your face before going through the exit," Harrison said.
The three put themselves together and waited to catch their breath and prepared to go out the exit. As they headed toward the staircase the white witch appeared, the most fearsome, frightening thing they had ever seen. The witch was so realistic looking that it scared the boys like nothing ever before and the three of them turned around and ran through the haunted house back to the entrance.
This urban legend is a re-write by me about a supposed actual haunted house in California. Though there is no record of this haunted house in existence the story of this house still manages to live on each and every Halloween.
