My daughter Elisa is 10. She dint want any birthday with little kids theme. She wanted A big girl birthday which ment flowers. I got a cake and with flower. We invited like 15 of her friends to the skating ring but no one showed up.She was very upset.but she did get a bunch of stuff from me and her brother. we met this other girl having her party there and no one showed up for her party either.so we had cake with her. she whines a lot and my dad said I never did do any of the stuff she does. so I dont know why she does and she promised me she wouldnt if I gave her a big girl birthday and room. but I think its worse than before.

If you have any Ideas to get her to spot whining and asking the samething over and over if I say no let me know. It is anoring. I tryed to inore her but it gets louder and worse.

Date: 9/27/2011 12:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 53427    My daughter is 10 also. She is the queen of whining and fake crying. Sorry, I don't have any advice. I'm in the same situation, but probably worse lol! Happy late birthday Elisa!!!
Date: 9/27/2011 1:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 49101    It's a phase. She isn't sure if she wants to be a big girl, or a little girl. It's a scary, pre-pubescent time for both mother and daughter. "Yer jist gon haf ta be pashunt." as one of our boarders says.
Date: 9/27/2011 4:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 64985    Yes it is a childish trait for getting ones way with things because no parent can handle this kind of behaviour. It's like they all know this anout us or something. SlickChick and I have a four year old that is so smart, but she does this. We've tried everything from talking to time out to even whipping a little, and still no progress, so we're hopeing she'll grow out of it, if we just keep talking to her about whatever it is she's upset about. I hold her, tell her I understand and repeat what she has sad, so she knows we are on the same page. This holding while I tell her I love her seems to be having some affect. The fusses don't last as long then she forgets them and moves on to something else. Maybe it'll work for you...Corolator
Date: 9/27/2011 9:27:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 51194    she does it mostly when she wants something and she is in astore or in the car when she knows we cant get to here.she also runs off in stores making it harder for me to go home soon i have to look for her.
Date: 9/27/2011 10:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    How rude of those friends to not at least notify you of who was going to the skating rink and who isn't..It must have been so disappointing for Elisa..I don't understand people these days and what was wrong with their parents letting you know *shakes head* HAPPY BIRTHDAY Elisa I'm glad that you could at least join in with the other girl for her party also...
Date: 9/28/2011 6:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 51106    My neice is also ten. I asked her what she wanted for christmas this year and she said a cell phone. When I mentioned a baby doll or barbie she practically laughed at me.

But for Elisa I'm sorry her friends didn't show up. I agree with Zema. It's ridiculous. As for the whole parenting thing. I am not a parent so I don't think I could help much with that.
