Dialing up to ticking clock and girl's dead

About just over 30 years ago when I had just started my teens,I found out that if you dialed a certain phone number you would be answered to the slow ticking of a clock. The old story is that some sick minded lady lured a young girl in her house and murdered her,then stuffed her body into the case of the grandfather clock. So you dialed what had been that woman's old phone number. So the story goes. Has anyone ever heard that story before or anything like it? If you did,did you acquire the # and try and dial it? I know anybody who's at least 40-50 could remember hearing something like it. Danny3
