I wasn't quite sure where this went, but this kinda seemed like the right place. Man - "Excuse me doctor, but I seem to have a problem with my heart." Doc -"Oh? What seems to be the problem?" Man -"Well, I'm not too sure really. I've had other hearts before, but they seem to keep breaking. I'm not too sure why." Doc -"Breaking how? You are saying you have had multiple heart transplants already?" Man -"I wouldn't call it a transplant doc. More so like a regeneration. The prior just gets so damaged until the decay stops. Then it is just so deformed that a new one grows. Problem is as soon as a new one grows, it starts to decay again." Doc -"Hmm that does sound like a pretty severe problem. Does it hurt?" Man -"Sometimes it does. More so in the first time, but it's gotten kinda numb over time. Still, I can clearly feel moments where it grows and where it decays the most. It isn't so much a hurt as a dull ache." Doc -"I see. Have you been prescribed any medication for the pain, or have you used over the counter medicines?" Man -"No, I haven't turned to using drugs to heal the pain. I'd much rather find a natural cure if I can. I really rather avoid using those means. Drugs just numb it anyways. They don't fix it." Doc -"Yes, I see what I mean. Okay, so have you been trying any type of treatment, natural or not?" Man -"Well, I have found ways to make my heart stop decaying for small bits of time. There are a few short term fixes, but the best fix has always involved the help of another person." Doc -"Is there any particular person that helps you the most?" Man -"...well, sorta" Doc -"Sorta? You are unsure?" Man -"I don't like the side effects of the treatment. I mean yea, when I have a dose of it I feel amazing for awhile, but once it wears off I feel a little worse than when I started." Doc -"So then the treatment sounds irrational. No point in taking one step forward only to take two steps back." Man -"Easier said than done. The treatment seems to have powerful addictive qualities to it. Sometimes I even know I am going to come out worse than I started, but I try anyways just hoping I may be wrong and I could have found a way to heal my heart." Doc -"That sounds rather stupid. Why would you take such a gamble? Why not be paitent and wait until you find a proper treatment?" Man -"Because I refuse to accept defeat and give up. Yea, I may lose my heart many times along the way, but so far I always grow another. Trial and error treatments, I guess. I was hoping you might be able to guide me to the treatment I need to fix it forever." Doc -"Sorry, but the problem you have described to me does not seem curable by conventional means of medication. Have you ever thought to yourself that perhaps the reason your heart keeps decaying is because the treatment you administer is the reason behind the damage?" Man -"Yes, I have." Doc -"And what did you conclude?" Man -"Well... yea. You are right. The treatment itself goes bad a lot of times and causing the negative effect. However, if I don't attempt any form of treatment at all then other things start to hurt." Doc -"So what you are telling me is that you are having an issue with your heart because it keeps getting damage due to treatment you keep voluntarily applying to it due to addictive properties of the treatment as well as a short "high" you experience before it wears off and leaves you feeling worse... but you can't stop the treatment because if you do, other parts of your body begin to decay?" Man -" Yea, that sounds about right. Got any suggestions?" Doc -"It might help if you tell me exactly what this treatment is that you keep trying. Perhaps I can look into it and provide some suggestions." Man -"...Love." Doc -" Oh... sorry, you're screwed."
