Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her North London home, Sky News is reporting. The Daily Mail reports that police have confirmed the passing.

The Grammy-winning singer, best known for her hit song, "Rehab," died of an apparent drug overdose. She's battled drug addiction for years, having most recently checked back into rehabilitation in May.

Winehouse entered treatment in late 2007 for drug problems, including admitted heroin use.

Earlier in the day, Tim Gatt, a Sky News producer, tweeted a statement saying that she was withdrawing from all of her upcoming performances, writing, "Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances. Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen."

 Rip Amy..

Note: As pointed out by Hey Larry..Amy now joins the group of musicians  who have died at the tender age of 27. The 27 club

Among the more bizarre ghosts in rock 'n' roll lore is the curse of the 27th year. No one can explain why it is that so many talented men and women die (or are murdered) at that age, but the fact remains that many of the most talented, iconic, revolutionary artists in popular music never saw their 28th year

Date: 7/23/2011 10:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 5940    WOW! That is so sad. Thought I'm not a fan of hers there is something about musicians / celebreties that died at the age of 27..... Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Kurt Cobain... and there's more. Errie!
Date: 7/23/2011 10:20:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15157    Yes Larry! Holy wow!...Thats what I was thinking too!...I can`t say I was up on her music...but she was so young. Drugs were the catalyst in many of their deaths.
Date: 7/23/2011 10:36:00 AM  From Authorid: 62679    Thia is sad. She really did have a great voice and I was looking forward to her getting sober and releasing more music.
Date: 7/23/2011 10:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 3680    Dang...no more of her awesome music...........
Date: 7/23/2011 10:42:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15157    The only song that comes to mind was the song about her saying No No No to rehab.
Date: 7/23/2011 12:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 49101    She was a good singer, and while her passing is quite sad... I have to say I sort expected it.
Date: 7/23/2011 1:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 10722    No shock here.
Date: 7/23/2011 1:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 55582    I read this on the CNN app on my iPhone 4 such a sad lose she was a good singer I loved her song back to black and valaire and poor little rich girl
Date: 7/23/2011 3:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 3680    Only about 5 of them anyone really knows about. The rest I have no clue who they are, I recognize some of the band names.
Date: 7/23/2011 4:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 52489    Very sad. I wish there were some sort of program to educate people about the dangers of being a celebrity. So many people who "make it" think that nothing bad can happen to them once they're successful. They just don't realize that when you're at the summit of popularity, not only are the odds against you bigger, there's nowhere to go but down!
Date: 7/23/2011 5:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    Sad, but not surprising. She seems to have been something of a mess.
Date: 7/23/2011 7:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    Amy was a troubled young soul R.I.P Amy...peace at last for you
Date: 7/23/2011 7:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 2734    I really liked her music but I cannot say that I am surprised. I agree with Arion. I believe that fame (and power) gives people an invincibility-I-will-never-get-caught-or-run-out-of-money-or-lose-my-fame complex. Sadly, I think I remember the parents wanting to take over her affairs (sort of like Brittney Spears) but it was turned down?
Date: 7/23/2011 8:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 34663    the 27 club or as a lot of people refer to as a curse, Britney Spears beat that curse but looks like it got Amy, wonder who the curse will claim next
Date: 7/23/2011 8:49:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15157    Yes she flirted with death many a time. Its a shame one so young did herself in
Date: 7/23/2011 9:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 2734    Of course, sometimes a blood sacrifice is needed in order for things to turn around. Perhaps this will spur some kind of action. Unfortunately, if there is some kind of law or rule put in place that helps parents of adults that may be in danger of hurting themselves or others, it will be abused by some people.
Date: 7/23/2011 9:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 64765    So sad
Date: 7/23/2011 9:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 18516    Can't say that I'm surprised.
Date: 7/23/2011 9:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    I am so sorry to hear this. She was so young and talented. I just don't understand the attraction to such dangerous substances.
Date: 7/24/2011 12:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 14314    Sad, may she rest in peace
Date: 7/24/2011 6:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 39107    terrible artist, terrible person, lets move on
Date: 7/24/2011 12:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301
...she wasn't a close personal friend of mine but I had heard her name mentioned a few times on the radio.
I wonder if my work will give me time off for grieving?

Date: 7/24/2011 8:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 2734    Hekler, you could try. What the hey? Give it a shot.
