Little Mona the fairy awoke from her dream which was about chocolate and made her self a cup of fairy juice. Her mother was still sleeping which was not good because Mona needed a lift to fairy school, where she learnt all about fairy words, fairy numbers, and fairy sports.
"Mummy, mummy, wake uppy!" she said to her mother. But mummy was a tired fairy and replied, "Just another minute or two my dear sweet Mona." Daddy fairy had long been up and was not around for he was at fairy work at the fairy office where he was a fairy civil servant.
"But mummy its time for school!" said Mona to her mother. In fact, she would have made her own way, it was just that if she wanted to go to fairy school she had to make her way past a dangerous pixie neighbourhood. And this was not the done thing.

Mona was surprised to see her mother was there and she nearly did a backflip in glee. "Mona dear," said mummy fairy. "You must not take the path through the pixie territory, you know this." And mummy fairy did admonish the naughty pixie. Then, the two fairies tried to leave, but they were accosted by a large pixie called Timmy who was the father of the little pixie who was calling Mona some names.
"What are you doing here?" he cried at the fairies. "Why I ought to rip your wings off!"
"Oh please, do not do such a thing," retorted mummy fairy. "We will be on our way!"
And fairly soon, there was a gaggle of pixies surrounding the fairies. Mummy fairy grabbed Mona and flew upwards to escape, but a big pixie had smashed her head with a piece of dwarf bread, which is reknowned for use in battle.
"Ouch!" She cried, falling to the floor and dropping Mona. Mummy fairy fell unconscious. Little Mona came to her side.
"Mummy? Are you al..."
