It could be an OBE. I would suggest that you try to relax when you have an episode and see where it takes you. Document everything. Some people write it down when they awake or use a recorder. I've had several of these types after my wife passed. Someone was in bed with me and I felt it was her but couldn't see her face. It was like I wasn't supposed to, just lie back and enjoy. I was paralyzed in real time but wasn't in these dreams. I was holding her with my arms but then I'd wake a little and feel that my arms were pinned. I was in kind of a half-awake, half-asleep thing. I knew what was going on but couldn't do anything against it. The last time it happened I was bound and determined to see who it was. I looked real quick at her face and the whole thing just stopped. Nope, never got a look. Hasn't happened since. So, if you want to experience this, and it can be nice sometimes, just go with the flow. |

It sounds more like lucid dreaming than an actual OBE. but i hear that lucid dreams are the starting points of OBE's so you may be well on your way to having one. don't be afraid, just go with the flow! |

Thanks y'all! I was torn between lucid dreaming and OBE. I was wondering if any person can OBE or does it take someone who might have paranormal ablilities to pull it off? My mom has had one before so I didn't know if it's something that can possibly run in the family. |

I don't think OBE is a hereditary thing. I truly believe its how in tune you are with that sort of thing. |
