Was this an OBE?

Hello all! The first time this happened to me was in Febuary and I'm not sure how to explain it that well so please bear with me. Basically it was early in the morning and I was at my friends house. I remember knowing I was sleeping. When it started to really hit me that something might be going on that was more than just a dream was when I was trying to wake up my friend that was sleeping next to me. I remember feeling like I was reaching over to him and shaking him awake. I remember feeling helpless. And then I think the sleep paralysis set in. I remember not being able to move and a feeling of panic set in and then just like that I snapped awake and just kept breathing hard and freaking out. The second incident that I had was at another friends house I was staying at. I was upstairs in the room and I was sleeping he was downstairs. That night I remember falling asleep and knowing I was sleeping once again. This time it was a bit different. I was in a car with someone that was talking to me. I couldn't make out what the other person was saying but I remember looking out the window of the car I was in and seeing green and then a fountain. I then had the sleep paralysis episode again and remember waking up and flying down the stairs and asking him if I was still asleep or if I was awake again. I haven't had anymore yet. But I'm starting to wonder what these could be so I can be better prepared for when they do happen again.

How it changed my life:

It's scaring me

Date: 7/11/2011 5:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 27414    It could be an OBE. I would suggest that you try to relax when you have an episode and see where it takes you. Document everything. Some people write it down when they awake or use a recorder. I've had several of these types after my wife passed. Someone was in bed with me and I felt it was her but couldn't see her face. It was like I wasn't supposed to, just lie back and enjoy. I was paralyzed in real time but wasn't in these dreams. I was holding her with my arms but then I'd wake a little and feel that my arms were pinned. I was in kind of a half-awake, half-asleep thing. I knew what was going on but couldn't do anything against it. The last time it happened I was bound and determined to see who it was. I looked real quick at her face and the whole thing just stopped. Nope, never got a look. Hasn't happened since. So, if you want to experience this, and it can be nice sometimes, just go with the flow.
Date: 7/11/2011 6:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 13969    It sounds more like lucid dreaming than an actual OBE. but i hear that lucid dreams are the starting points of OBE's so you may be well on your way to having one. don't be afraid, just go with the flow!
Date: 7/11/2011 2:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64791    Thanks y'all! I was torn between lucid dreaming and OBE. I was wondering if any person can OBE or does it take someone who might have paranormal ablilities to pull it off? My mom has had one before so I didn't know if it's something that can possibly run in the family.
