Something caught me while I was in sleep paralysis

Hi all - I have this problem with Sleep paralysis for so many years. Now I have known to control this rather than getting freaked out. But what happened with me this weekend freaked me out.

I was alone at my home for the weekend as my roommate had gone for camping. I was trying to pass time by watching some movies at Netflix and later in the night, i watched some episodes of ghost adventures. Generally, it was the last thing in my mind before i went to sleep. Frankly I was little bit scared, so i put on the kitchen light and tried to sleep. After about 1 hour, I woke up, but in Sleep paralysis. As usual I tried to relax to let it pass. My eyes were little bit open and because of the light in the kitchen, it was little bit bright. After struggling for almost 2 minutes, I don't know why, but I started to think about all the scary things, like the episodes of Ghost adventures I saw earlier. I panicked and wanted to wake up quickly. I struggled, but i couldn't get my body moving. I was lying on my back, and suddenly from the corner of my eye, I could see a shadow moving quickly towards me from my left and I felt it grab my right hand. Initially I thought my roommate came back. But I realized that he would be coming on Sunday evening. Cold fear settled over me as I tried to move my body and wake up quickly. I was imagining all kind of things for the worst.

After a long struggle, I finally could move and woke up quickly. I looked around and there was no one. And I could feel this pain at the right forearm. I mean I really don't know if I had hit it accidently somewhere or maybe because I imagined something had grabbed me. Whatever it was, my arm was paining too much. I was too freaked out and afraid to go back to sleep that I stayed awake the rest of the night and slept when the daylight came. I imagine so many things when I am in sleep paralysis. I have seen figures and sort of things..but this is the first time I felt something grab me. Its weird...

How it changed my life:

Too afraid to go to sleep now

Date: 6/27/2011 2:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 16916    I experience this all the time (nightly). it has gotten to the point where I am afraid to sleep but I have to so I can go to work in the morning. I have felt things scratch/pinch/grab and many other things I would rather not mention in a public forum. But I totally feel your pain! I hate sleep paralysis!

I used to fear sleep.
Now I wish I could just Sleep! Lol

Date: 6/27/2011 8:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 60685    Probably shouldn't be scaring you further but once I was dreaming that a ghost was strangling me, it was that kind of nightmare where you just know you're asleep and struggling to wake up and when I did I still felt like I was being choked, when I was finally able to move or free myself I pretty much sprinted out of the bed and out of the room. Next morning I could barely even utter a word because my neck was in so much pain. On another occasion I woke up already light out, I could barely open my eyes and having taken Psych classes I knew that it was just a simple sleep paralysis and tried to remain calm and then I felt something or someone above me, like if someone were watching over me as I was sleeping and I could hear my mother making a ruckus in the kitchen like every other morning so I knew it wasn't her and suddenly felt a light kiss on my lips, strangely it didn't feel scary and just then I was able to move and get up from bed and whatever it was was gone.

Date: 1/12/2012 9:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 34758    That is so creepy.. I have SP and I have it often.. sometimes 4-5 times a week (and it happens over and over for HOURS) and sometimes I only have it once every few weeks. I have also gotten better at controlling it, but every so often something scary happens during it and it is creepy. It makes you wonder... it really does.
Date: 3/1/2012 11:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 65861    That's so familiar. A few years back immediately after having a bad dream, I woke up in SP. A dark shadow I thought was a man was standing to the right of me. Being scared, I tried to struggle thinking that someone had broken into the house. I struggled without being able to move until i fell out of bed. When I looked up there was a bright white shadow that grabbed me by my right hand. The closes I can describe what I felt next was that it felt like it pulled my "soul" out of my body. The shadow then reached down and grabbed my left hand sitting my body up, and what felt like brought my "soul" back into my body. Now I guess I'm glad to know these things happen to others
Date: 7/19/2013 11:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 66838    I used to have sleep paralysis But now I sadly don't... it can be very scary but it was worth it to me because once u get past the fear it is such an easy way to conciously enter the astral plane
