I will agree that there are a lot of very judgemental people when it comes to religion. if you don't see it there way, it isn't right. I'm glad you are choosing your own path and doing what you think is right. |

No Deb, atheism is not a religion, it is a rejection of a single belief - the belief in gods. You can have a religion independent of that single belief. Sorry I haven't been on the site in so long, life happened and I forgot about it for a while.  |

The base definition of "religion" is "a belief system". Your belief is that you don't believe in God. That system works in the same way that a system of belief in God works, i.e., you live your life based on your belief. Your "religious journey" is a journey within your life to accept that which you believe. Why deny that?

Atheism is not a belief system though, it is a rejection of a single belief. My belief system is not atheism. I guess you could call my religion humanism. A belief system can be atheistic by nature, but atheism is not a belief system in and of itself. It is simply saying that I reject your claim of god/gods. |
