I believe it cause look at how we helped the Taliban in Afghanistan and Saddam. We gave the Afghans(Taliban) weapons to fight the russians back in the 1980's...We gave Saddam weapons to fight the Iranians in the 1980's. |

Date: 2/17/2011 1:04:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 Why is John F Kennedy's father, Joe Kennedy, always left off this list? He was ambassador to Great Britain and it's a fact that he was kicked out of Great Britain because of his support for the Nazis. He wanted Britain to capitulate to them. That's one for the history books, or would be if liberals wrote them correctly. |

We did NOT give the taliban weapons, PsyGuy. We armed the mujahideen which were afghan fighters and warlords. The Soviets were driven out around 1989 and they drove the marxist President out around 1992. Severe infighting among the mujahideen factions continued, however, under the presidency of mujahid leader Burhanuddin Rabbani. Their war against each other devastated Kabul: tens of thousands of civilians lost their lives, and infrastructure was destroyed by rocket fire. This chaos, and the exhaustion of the Afghans, permitted the Taliban to gain power. Cultivated by Pakistan, the Taliban emerged first in Kandahar, gained control of Kabul in 1996 and controlled most of the entire country by 1998. Their extremely severe laws based on retrograde interpretations of the Quran, and absolute disregard for human rights, were repugnant to the world community. http://terrorism.about.com/od/warinafghanistan/ss/AfghanistanWar_5.htm |

Hi everyone thanks for reading and commenting. I have read through most comments, can we please keep it on Nazi Germany. The reason I posted this was the importance to know that this country (Germany) was funded and had outside help; this wasn't some mastermind plan from an evil dictator. In fact, many horrible events occurred in Germany while the Nazi's were in power that were not direct orders from Hitler. The Nazi Party and the ideology influenced many people to take this hatred and racism of the Jews, as well as other groups, which led to a mass hysteria to support genocide. This wasn't a "secret" and we need to remember and address how something like this could happen to prevent it from happening again. Does it not bother the people that our government and the banks helped to kill millions of people that we only place blame on ONE country? Sounds a bit unrealistic to me. Kelly, that is interesting, I did not see his name but I will check into it. But, we cannot blame liberals or republicans or democrats.... etc etc etc... it's all the same. These political parties are both at fault and should both be held responsible. I will post more later, thank you for reading. |
