Today is the first snow fall of the year at my place. I've been thinking of online gaming alot lately and I miss it.
I remember living in New Hampshire and we would play Delta Force for hours. My squad was made up of people from all over, we two from England, across the U.S. and I forget where else.
I remember this one guy Firestorm (player name) and it was just he and I testing his new maps. He was a great sniper and would kill me constantly. The only way I could get him was by firing a law (light anti-tank weapon).
He had these great screan shots that he would send me. I wish I still had them. Stupid UPS.
I loved playing Command and Conquer on-line as well as Axis and Allies and a few others.
I remember there was this one - I forget the name of it... It was two of them vs lil ol me. It was based off of Germany and Russia in World War II. One controlled the reserve units, the other controlled the frontline units and I on the German side, I controlled both my front and reserve.
They sent private messages to each other and they sent not so nice messages to me.
Simply put without boring the audiance - I whomped them.
Those not interrested in reading details can stop here - those on-line gamers interested can keep reading lol.
On my first attack, I massed my armor, "Blitzkrieg" to the south was a high rocky mountain that would take too long to go around. I stayed on the north side of that, my artillery (88's mostly) covered my northern flank at a steep angle going towards my rear on the edge of that was my infantry.
I took my armor pounded the day lights out of their foward positions as an their armor came up, I made a drive to my artillery.
There my guns waited until the Russian tanks came in range and got hit in the side. I had my armor turn around again, (staying out of range of my guns) and hit them from the other side. They then went to work on the defenses once again.
The Russian reserves came in and was bombarded by my artillery and my massed infantry.
It was a sweet victory! One I will always remember!
The same two guys we played Warcraft Tides of Darkness, that was even easier than the first game. After that they never played with me again. :(
But it was a lot of FUN!
Thanks for the memories...
I can't wait until I can get a computer and make more memories :D
