I used to trick or treat, but not so much anymore. Our neighborhood has really died down, and usually we now just pass out candy and watch horror movies. The sad thing is, there really are no trick or treaters anymore where I live.
Maybe this year I will get to take my nephew out, if people in my neighborhood are handing out candy. |

It is my New Year. I am Pagan. It is also the day I Remember my Ancestors that crossed over into SummerLand. It is not about candy and costumes for me. |

When my kids were little I went all out for halloween. As the years went by I quit celebrating it. If I was going to be home I would make sure there was plenty of treats to hand out, otherwise I didn't pay any attention to it. The last few years there have been no trick or treaters. I guess all the children in the neighborhood grew up and there haven't been very many new ones to replace them. There are a lot of children where I live now so I'm going to be handing out treats if they stop by to trick or treat. I'm going to carve a pumpkin this weekend and set it out to let possible trick or treaters know that I will be handing out treats. |

at a mall every year every store hands out candy, its a fun time to see everyone dressed up. There is a free cake walk and free cotton candy. The mall gets so packed though that there isnt much room to walk. I work in the mall and this year I will be handing out candy to the trick or treaters. I like all the watching all the scary movies and shows that are always on tv. |

I just heard from a friend about something they do in her city every year called Trunk or Treat. All the businesses downtown decorate and get ready for the occasion before halloween and they hand out candy, or whatever, to Trunk or Treaters. People decorate the trunks of their vehicles and people go trunk or treating to all of the decorated cars. She said there was even a tractor trailer decked out haunted house style, and they have a grand old time. I've never heard of that before. I think it's a neat idea. |

I like it, however it's not about Trick or Treating it's about the real meaning of Halloween, as Sur5r said, it's their new year. |

I just love handing out candy to trick-or-treaters now - my boyfriend is a distributor for Hostess so we get to give the kids Twinkies and cupcakes. Let me tell you, it is really fun to see all the kids run to their parents going "MOOOOOM! HEY MOM! I got a Twinkie!! Look, MOOOM!" ... sometimes you get the younger kids who are still developing speaking skills and yell to their family and friends that the got "Winkies" ... that's cute |

I love Halloween, I get into the dressing up part as I work in a "haunted house" from the end of Sept until Halloween night. It originally started out as a Christian holiday and they say that the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is the thinnest on Halloween night, or All Hallows Eve. |
