I went through a long period of unemployment, and squeaked by through Ebay & Craigslist sales. Basically I sold off a lot of my stuff, and then started hitting garage and estate sales and buying stuff cheap and selling what I could. It was hard, but I managed to stay alive until I was able to pick up a stopgap job. Also, most of the job market is found online through a variety of sites: Snagajob.com for hourly wage-slave work; Monster.com, for salaried work; also CareerBuilder.com, Job-hunt.org. Also, here's a link to the 30 best websites for jobs, according to Fortune Magazine: http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/07/news/economy/best.websites.fortune/index.htm Finally, let me pass on a word of wisdom from my best friend, Jim: All work is noble. It doesn't matter if you're digging ditches, doctoring horses, or being a politician, what matters is that you are working to the best of your ability. |
