Amnesia Victim Seems Odd .. Ever Searching!

A middle-aged man was found unconscious in a church Monday night. The mystery man, believed to be in his 50s, and had a heart rate that was fine, but his pupils were fully dilated and he was unresponsive when ambulance officers arrived. He was taken to a nearby hospital in a serious condition. A police sergeant said the man was too ill to speak until yesterday, when he refused to divulge his details, telling hospital staff, ‘‘I want a new identity’’. The only clue to the man’s identity was an appointment card for an physiotherapist.

So as I read through this story on the news, I wondered if there had been much thought to the appointment card, and what that might say about the mystery man. As far as I know,  physiotherapists may work with someone after injury, accident or surgery. Has this man had surgery or an accident that caused the memory loss? Well that could be, but why then less than 48 hours after being found in the church, would he already be asking for a 'new' identity? I surely think that if I lost all my memories, I would want to wait for a few weeks if not months to see if doctors could help the mental condition. Or, I might want to wait for memories to return on their own before starting a brand new life. Somehow this man seems to know more than he is telling police in my estimation. What do you think?

Other wise he would be able to start a brand new life as himself right? Thats just my opinion though.
Date: 9/23/2010 8:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 61966    If I woke up not knowing who I am or where I'm at..the last thing I'd say is "I want a new identity" Who says that! Sounds kind of fishy to me.

Date: 9/23/2010 1:02:00 PM  ( Admin )   This man already has a new Identity, since there is no other one that he can remember.

It sounds like the desire for a new identity is not because he want's to be someone else, it is because he want's to be someone again.

Date: 9/23/2010 3:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 64514    (how did that happen? I wasn't done typing.) ... not total memory loss, just a few important things I couldn't remember and it took me a few days to get everything right again.
Date: 9/23/2010 4:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    His memory loss could be hysterical...like in PTSD...that might explain it...or maybe he has really lost his memory and eager to get on with life. Or MAYBE he's just flat out lieing. Who knows what motivates situations like these? HUGS
Date: 9/23/2010 10:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    They should be able to find out who he is from the appointment card.
Date: 6/25/2011 2:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 64828    unusal that no one else is looking for him friends, collegues, family members this makes it feel more strange!maybe he didnt have an identity to begin with
