Thanks for commenting. There must be so many people who just read. When you see how many people have read as compared to comments. I guess over the years, the posts have changed heaps. I've been here almost 10 years too.  |

I'm trying to read/comment more b/c I figure if I read the post, I might as well take 5 more secs to comment. I went through a phase where I just got on and pm'd people more than anything else. Quite a few people are talking about how many of their old favorite friends are not here, but remember, change comes to all things. Probably some of the people who started out on USM have gone on to other things, or other sites. Others may be bogged down in work, or facing the uncertain nature of parenthood. It's possible that some of them have died, too, though that's not a nice thought. I've often wondered if it might be possible to start up a 'Nudge' program; sending a note to past USM members to let them know that we miss them, and invite them back. I try to comment whenever I read a post, because I know what it's like to post something and not receive any remarks. It leaves you feeling hollow and unappreciated. So I make the effort to say something about the post, either good or bad.  |

I am one of the old timers, been here almost a decade now and I still come back, from time to time and post something. It is almost like a dairy of my life here now. My poems, my problems, my writings, all kept in one place that I would have otherwise havelost with as many times as I have moved since I joined USM. Sometimes it stll surprises me that I can remember my ID number to log on, but it stores in my brain like a zip code.  |
