I crafted!

I've been in a wicked crafty mood lately, but between working, mommying, having the flu, and having a miscarriage I just haven't had the time to do anything besides... that stuff.

So, today I had a rare day off from work. I was hanging out in my craft room with my daughter, trying to organize when our pastors wife (who is also our neighbor) came by with her granddaughter and asked if Adia could come over and play for a few hours. I jumped at the chance, said sure and got her dressed. After she left I went back to my craft room and tried to think of a craft to do. I was thinking of trying to make pajama pants for my daughter, but I couldnt find my sewing kit - so there went my idea of making monsters or decorating a Dr. Seuss bag as well. I decided to sort through my beads and there were quite a few. So I picked out a few I liked and put them aside. Then I decided to look through an old catalog, and found this page that had rugs you could build. And I LOVED the design on the rugs, so I cut out 9 that I liked, looked through my craft stuff a little more, and found some scrabble sets, and some elastic cord. I finally had an idea. I called my husband over and asked if he could drill the scrabble pieces for me. He did that, and while he was doing that my neighbor dropped Adia off. (Yes, it took me three hours to come up with an idea.) After my husband finished drilling the pieces he brought them over to me and I decoupaged the rug pictures I found onto the scrabble pieces, grabbed the elastic cord, and the set aside beads, and created my bracelet. It says "CREATE ART", which is just something I'm always collecting. (Anytime I see anything with the word create, I grab it/buy it) And on the back are the rug pieces, so I can switch it around if I want... I guess a reversible bracelet?

After I finished the bracelet, we headed out to the free concert across the street where we ran into a friend of mine. She immediately asked about my bracelet, and when I told her I made it she asked me to make one for her, using her name. My husband has also asked me to make one for him. I'm hoping more people like it and possibly ask for some... of course if that happens, maybe I should start checking out Ebay for scrabble sets lol.

Here are some pictures of the bracelet!
