Hi guys!!! Happy Easter!!! Since I was pretty young I've been interested in living self sufficiently - living in a green home, like a yurt, using solar, or wind power, collecting rain water for cooking, cleaning, etc., using composting toilets, raising a few animals, like goats, chickens, and pigs, growing my own food, and herbs and using bicycles or hpv's. I've put so much thought into it, and my husband is quite interested in that lifestyle as well. I've done all kinds of research on the costs, but it seems like the start up costs would be totally out of our reach - especially now while my husband is out of work. I have heard that there are grants and loans for people that want to do this but I have no idea where to start, where to look or if I should even bother. I'm just curious if any of you might have ideas of where I should look, or if you are interested in the same kind of thing, and have any other ideas, period. Thanks guys!!!!
