PICO RIVERA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 4.4-mag. earthquake struck the Pico Rivera area at 4:04 a.m. There are no reports of injuries or damage at this time.

ABC7 received calls from residents in cities across the Southland who felt the quake, including La Habra, Watts, Lynwood, Pomona, Buena Park, La Verne, Apple Valley, Palmdale, Sun City, Norwalk, Chino, Brea, West Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Clarita and Yucaipa.

The epicenter was about 10 miles from where I live so needless to say even though it was just a 4.4 it was pretty strong when i felt it. Definitely glad it was no stronger but still. Being a Californian is basically just like, when is the next one going to hit. And with all these recent earthquakes around the world it was just a matter of time and waiting for one to finally hit us. Glad to hear so far that there has been no injuries or damage yet. We will see what happens from here on. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Date: 3/16/2010 2:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 37150    My bf and I sure felt it! It was 10 miles from us, too. We were trying to fall asleep and were restless. We "heard it" too. Like a rumble, first thought his sister was opening her closet door in the next room to get ready for school. It was so short, by the time we reacted, it was over. We weren't even sure it was earthquake, listened outside and some car alarm was going off. It woke his sister, but no one else. Not even the dogs reacted. lol. I was waiting for it to get bigger and stronger, turned on the t.v. and ABC confirmed what it was. They initially said it was a 4.5. Anyway, if a big one is going to hit, in the 4AM hour would be best when no one really out for work. Scared me! I'm tired I couldn't sleep well. Let's all get prepared!!
