Hello there USM! Long time no see huh?
. . .Don't worry I've been hiding in the shawdows leaving my marks on certain posts. The truth is I've been really busy to post on here. I spend most of my day in college and at work on a computer but still don't have time to post on this wonderful website! Crazy Huh?
Well Saturday just gone, I went to the first sold out date of the Lady GaGa concert here in my hometown Dublin, Ireland. She was playing two sold out gigs at the o2 Arena Dublin. I've been to many many concerts in my time, and I always gave P!nk the credit for my fave concernt. . . Not any more. We were waiting nearly two hours for every one to get in to the arena from outside. The o2 Can hold 14000 people so it took awhile to get in.
The place is HUGE. While waiting in the Q there were actually people walking up and down begging for people to sell tickets. One man even offered 500 euros for a ticket. The tickets were 30 euro to buy in ticket master so who ever did decide to sell made a big profit, but boy I'm sure they regretted it.
The first support act that was on was a band called 'Semi Precious Weapons' There suppose to be big in America, and I be honest I've never heard of them before, but immedaitely after their first song I realised why they were supporting Lady Gaga. The lead singer was a bit crazy, but crazy in a good way. He was talking to the crowd non stop and made every one laugh and to really get into the mood for the concert. They sang three songs then the support act that everyone was waiting for, 'Alaphabeat' came on. There a great band from Sweden. They're classed as a reto 80's melodic pop group. They were brilliant. Since most of the crowd knew the songs they were singing there was a better connect then there was with 'Semi Precious Weapons. They also sang three songs, and then the real waiting began.
You could see behind the curtain, well from the front row in anyway, that they were getting the stage ready. So they putted on Michael Jackson music. Everyone was having a great time. The seated area directly up above from the standing area decided that they should all do the mexican wave. God knows who thoughyof that idea but they looked like they had great fun. After the fourth Michael Jackson song people where getting a bit bored and restlest, then the chanting began. After about 20 chants of 'GAGA GAGA' and 14000 people singing 'Bad Romance' on there own the lights finally went out. The curtain didn't go up straight away. The real start of the show was the little film that was placed on the big screens and the curtain. It was a mini film about Lady Gaga and her making of the Monster Ball, but in truly Lady Gaga fashion.
Then there was a big count down starting from one minute all the way down to the zero second and Whoosh the curtain went up. I really wish I could include pictures of the stage here but they have some bad words and messages on it that are not G-Rated. She started of the show, and I really have to emphasie this, this was much more than an artist peforming live, she actually putted on a show. She made a story with her music. She started of the show with one of my fave of her new ablum. 'The Fame Monster', 'Dance in the Dark.'
I really would go through the whole show here but I dont want to bore yous lol. The highlight of the night was the speech she made, video included in the post. But what was really amazing was when she sang her song 'Speechless' on the piano. She started it of and then the 14000 people sang along, she stopped to listen and you could see that she was getting emotional, for you who don't know, she wrote this song for her father who had serious heart sugery, she stopped and listened for a few lines, and said 'I love you so much'
. From the lights, the quick costum changes, the mini films through out the show, from the Fish Monster to her speech it was a truly unforgettable night.
Thanks for reading hope everyone has a great week
