As much fun as contests can be, I have to agree with Paddy...most of them tend to be heavy popularity contests..I stopped entering any of them a long time ago just because of that.  |

i don't think it's a bad idea.  i don't know if everything has to be a popularity contest. i think that more contests would be an excellent addition to USM... regardless, we already have the halloween contest; how is that different from anything else? good idea. i support it. xD  |

i think you answered your own question, if its taking so long to get the halloween contest over with its not going to be easy to add others in. I dont know because ive never ran a contest but it sounds like a lot of work and a lot of time has to go in to running and judging them. There is just not enough man power to do a monthly contest.  |

I agree with Twilight about it taking so long for the other contest to end... BUT... not really much different than the "author of the week/month" that we already have and the "poet of the week/month". Granted those are alternated and such, but there would have to be rules to follow in any type of contest, such as not entering for so many after you have won, or something like that.  |

I like this idea but I think it would require a lot of work by the admins. I think if we narrowed it down to a few holidays it might be better. I would message the admins and see what they think  |

What type of contests are you wanting to see? It takes time to run contests like the holiday ones. I have helped run some of the past Halloween contests and it takes time. Anyone can start up a contest really and it also depends on how many people want to participate. Not all contests have to have a reward/award for winners. Mainly it's for fun.  |
