Mmmm, I've got a few. LOL I think I've told this one before....when I was a kid, my dad was a shift worker. ONe night after he'd left for work, and the rest of us were in bed, I heard what I thought, was our back door open. Then I heard someone walk into our lounge room (we had a glass cabinet that shook whenever you walked past it). Then a torch light flashed up our hall. I was too terrified to call out to my mum. It took all of my guts to pull the blankets up over my head. LOL The next morning I told mum. She heard it too, and heard the person leave via the front door. We locked up after that. I had never been so scared in my life at the time. Nothing was stolen! When my hubby and I got together, I always felt like someone was watching us. At times he felt it too. He thought it might've been his grandfather who had passed that year. Anyways, this went on for years. It sometimes creeped me out, but mostly I was okay with it. Then we heard some disturbing news about him, and I decided I didn't want him around anymore. So the next time I "felt" him, I asked him to move on. I told him we didn't need nor want him around anymore. STrangely, I haven't felt him since. When my boys were babies, they would focus on one spot in our lounge room, both of them, even though there is three years age difference. They would laugh their little heads off. When this first started to happen, I was completely freaked out. But in the end, I thought, hey, your making my baby happy, so I'm happy. When my eldest was about 4, his step grandmother passed away. I was explaining it all to him, how he wouldn't actually be able to go and see her anymore. He burst into tears, asking if that meant he won't see Uncle Troy anymore. Uncle Troy was 3 years old when he died, some 30years or so before my son was born. He was my hubby's baby brother. We always talked about him, but I didn't realise it was Troy that my boys were seeing. Mmm, well I have more, but I've rambled too much. Thanks for the post. |

Once when I was still a kid. I was alone in the house. It got dark before my parents came home and I was scared. Back in those days there were no cell phones or they could have called that they'd be late. Anyway I heard knocking at the side door of the house. I mean I tripped out scared as all get out! Then I heard my parents car pull up in the driveway. I never found out who or what was knocking on our side door!=O_O= |

This was about 15 years ago. I was living in an apartment on the Island in an all adult community, so outside of the occasional visitors with children to other residents there were no children around. My son's girlfriend and their baby were in my living room laying on a pallette on the floor getting ready to nap as well. I locked my bedroom door as I was proned to do even when alone, and soon after I was asleep I heard a knocking at my bedroom door. I woke up and answered, but there was no response, so I just settled back down to go to sleep. Soon, there was a rapping at my bedroom door and I answered again, but again there was no response, so I sat up in bed, and pondered how to approach my son's girlfriend about knocking on the door then not responding to me. As I was sitting there the knocking happened again. Not only did I hear it but the door moved like it was being knocked on, so I answered and there was no response, and I got up immediately and opened the door but no one was there. I went into the living room and my son's girlfriend was asleep on the palette with the baby. I called her several times and made her wake up, and asked her what she wanted and she had no idea what I was talking about. Needless to say, I didn't go back into the bedroom for awhile. |

I went to bed fairly early and watched tv until I nodded off to sleep. There was banging on the outside wall of our bedroom so I jumped up thinking it was my youngest son come home. As I was walking out to open the front door my phone rang and it was him at his mates place telling me he was staying the night there, kid I didn't begin to freak out. I ran around the house switching all the lights on as I definately heard the banging cause it woke me up...I peeked out the loungeroom window and put the outside light on and there was no body there...My goodness I didn't get back to sleep till hubby got back from work at 6am..I know I wasn't dreaming but it unnerved me and from there on in, I was scared to be in the house on my own. I used to turn all the lights on outside and inside the house...I felt like someone was outside just staring at the house or trying to look in...scary!! |

One night when I was still living by myself in my house (now brother lives with me) and I was watching (of all things!) Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the original one. It got to the part where they found the house where it all happened and I must have dozed off. Well, I was awakened by a pounding on the door and a voice. I distinctly heard a man's voice say, "Sheriff's department, open up!" along with a pounding on the door. I got up still in a daze and looked through the spy glass and saw no one. I opened the door and looked around and there was absolutely no one around. I have a humorous tale where I was the stranger and my ex-wife was the prey. In an apartment where we lived at, we spent most of the time in the living room which was a square and on one side was a short hall and the front door and on the other side was the hallway to our bedroom. One night, I decided to hide in the closet across from the bedroom door. Somehow, I managed to open the front door, sneak past her in the living room and climb into the closet without her seeing me. Well, inside our closet was a hamper and it was sure that she was going to put some clothes in it sooner or later and I didn't have to wait long. When she reached her hand into the closet, I snarled and stretched out a hand at her. I've never heard such a screech in all my life. It even scared me and I fell back into the closet crushing the hamper. After the shock was over, we laughed about it but that was several days and a new hamper later. |
