See, this wasn't exactly a dream, though some would argue it is... but I had no other place to put it. This morning I woke up around 5am and rolled over and was trying to get comfortable. All of a sudden (though, it actually wasn't - I had fallen asleep and been asleep for a couple hours without realizing it) I heard my husband walking, very quickly into my bedroom. So, I tried to sit up and say something so he wouldn't leave. I first opening my eyes, and I could not. I felt like I had a pillow over them. So then I tried to sit up. Didn't happen... it felt like something was sitting on top of me holding me down. Then I tried to raise my right hand in a what signal. (Which is strange, coz, though I'm right handed I usually use my left hand to gesture.) That didn't happen either. Finally I tried to say "What?" It came out "Gaauaauh." And the entire time, in the back of my mind, I was trying to remind myself it was just sleep paralysis. As soon as I had convinced myself, I woke up. And did NOT go back to bed. An episode like that really gets your adrenaline moving. So, there ya go, just wanted to share one of my many sleep paralysis moments while its still fresh in my mind :) How it changed my life:It didn't, but I do love learning about sleep disorders. That was the subject of my final project in Psych 101.
