A predicament... LittleJung

Hey guys!

I'm looking to get involved in volunteering for tons of reasons! However, I'm not really sure how to go about this. I'm in a few clubs right now at ASU & they all have tons of opportunities, but most of them are things like walks for raising awareness for things and one time things like that. I'm looking for things that are more in depth than just that.

I personally would love to be a cheer coach for a squad of girls around the age of 11-15, but I have NO clue how to get involved with that!

Also, since I'm currently working on my undergrad trying to get into dental school, I would love to work in a dentists office or orthodontists office (that's essentially what I want to do with my life) but I don't know how to go about getting these opportunities since almost every orthodontist/dentist is unbelievably busy and they don't want to let other people into their office.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me so I can get these things going?

Thank you! :)

They are always looking for coaches {I know this from working at a school} if none are needed than check your local YMCA or recreation center. ASU? is that App State? in NC?
Date: 10/25/2009 6:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    Do you have a Boys and Girls club in your area?? My daughter was on their cheer squad and all the coaches were volunteers. You could try the YMCA as well.

A girl in my office is a squad leader- I think she actually gets paid to do it. You might even see if an already existing squad could use an assistant. People rarely turn down free help.
