I took a trip to the ER yesterday... Oh what fun!

Well the day started out not too bad. We arrived at the golf course and set up the drink carts. I was going to an event for work that we do ever year and this year we sponsored one of the drink carts. I was totally excited as that meant I was not going to be stuck at a golf hole but was going to be able to drive around and enjoy the day.

The previous year I was all alone at the hole. My only entertainment was my attempts to get the golfers to miss. Yes I was one of those people, but it was all in good fun they got money.

So we loaded up on ice and had fun. The day started and the golfers went to their holes. We (Myself and a coworker) started the day driving around handing out drinks or snacks. The driving was a lot of fun as I got to drive through the tunnel, and over the bridges. They were so much fun kinda like going on a ride at Disneyland. Well I had to share the driving with my co-worker. :( I like driving as I like to know that I have the control of the vehicle. Well it was not too bad with the other person driving. I had fun making comments as though we were on safari stocking the golfers. We were driving a gas powered golf cart and so we had to turn it off when we came to close to them. It was really fun for me. I am not sure how much fun she had.

Well then we started back to hole one. We were told to drive the course backwards, starting at 18 finishing at 1. So as it was going to be my turn I was excited to get driving again, until one sharp turn and it was all over.

I don't remember the initial hit on the concrete but I do remember the sliding. I had put my arms out to stop me from hitting my head. Well in that attempt I got horrible road rash on my hands and elbows. Still has debris in the wound from it. I also got road rash on my left hip and left leg. I twisted my right leg and for now have to walk with a cane or I fall every time.

I got taken to the ER which was not bad. The one thing that is nice about getting hurt usually there is at least one cute paramedic. Well I think I had 5 of them. Only two took me to the hospital but it was a bright spot to the pain. Well I am sore. I could not brush my hair this morning and without the pain pills I would not be walking.

So in future, and a warning make sure that when riding on a Golf cart that the person makes no sudden moves or you will end up out of it and enjoy payment and pain. Also make sure you trust your driver or drive yourself. I know I will only be driving myself.

Her golf cart license at lease by me has been revoked. I know she is really sorry for the accident but I am not giving her the license back ever, well not driving me.

Also don't let ROP students clean wounds... they are still learning and it hurts like hell when they do it wrong.
