Leaving for Missouri... To see my hubby graduate Basic Training! :D

Hiya all! :)

Like the title says; I'm leaving for Missouri, later tonight, to see my husband graduate Basic Training! If you're on my facebook/myspace; then  you've already heard, and probably sick of my status updates about it. Sorry for that! LOL :D

Art (Wooden Nickel) is taking me and lil man up there. :D We're going to leave, I think around 9-10pm. Maybe a bit later, just so that we can time it right to check in at the hotel up near Ft. Leonard Wood, and be there in time for Family day, which is tomorrow (it's only for a few hours though). :D

Hubby officially graduates BCT, Thursday, October 15th. :D After Graduation, he will be allowed to leave post and go with us out to eat, or whatnot. :D I am SO excited just to see him. Lil man is beyond excited- HE So can't wait to see his daddy! :D

Only down thing about everything, is I woke up this morning not feeling well at all. My head is all stuffy, and I've been coughing. That's not gonna stop me, even if I have to wear a mask or something when I get there. lol... I'm taking some medicine and cough syrup though, so hopefully it will soon go away. :D

So, Wish us a Safe trip, or congratulate hubby; or both! lol :D Just wanted to share hehehe... :D

Love ya'll!

*huge hugs*

~Amanda

*hugs*

Date: 10/13/2009 1:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    LOL.. so now you can quiet down about that one thing, huh?
Date: 10/13/2009 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    ...for at least a week or so Have a great time! And tell him thank you, from me.

Thank *YOU*, too.... military spouses are often way under-appreciated and hardly ever get acknowledgment for their sacrifice.

Date: 10/13/2009 2:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    Wow, finally .. the day is almost here!!! I can't imagine how excited all three of you are to see each other again. How wonderful that you get to have Woody with you too !!! Please tell that hubby of yours that we all say HI and send huge HUGS to him !!!
Date: 10/13/2009 2:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 63201    Congratulations to hubby and a huge thank you for his service, and as Mercury said, for yours too! Military spouses are far underappreciated! *hugs*
Date: 10/13/2009 2:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Thank you Everyone Sorry for the delay of response. Making sure I have everything packed that I need.

LOL Mercury- YEP! And thanks. When Hubby first got to basic, he sent me this beautiful flowery thing that said, "ARMY Wife- The toughest job in the military". I am still new to all of this, but I can see how that is true. We're left behind to make sure the house and kiddo/s stay balanced out, as well as be supportive to our spouses, encouraging, and trying to stay strong through it all. It's definitely a balancing act of emotions, but I'm getting through it the best I can. Thanks hun!

I will definitely share the message of thanks from everyone. I know what he'll say, "You're welcome, but no need to thank me. I'm doing something that my heart and soul feels through and through, to do. I do it because I care about my family, and about my friends' families, and everyone else in this country. That's why I serve, to help, to defend, and to protect." xD He wrote that in a letter response to his best friend. His best friend showed it to me on Myspace.

So, there's ya'll's response too. hehe

Thanks Ginger, Yep, finally here. I've talked about it enough that most people are probably sick of hearing about it. For those that don't know- for the last month I've had probably 20 status messages counting down the days until I get to see hubby. lol.. Sorry, to my buddies there.hehe Just goes to show how excited I really am! hehehe

Ok, off to get the rest of my stuff together. I think I have most of it already, but I need to put it all together, so I don't forget something. hehe

*huge hugs all* Less than 24 hours until I get to hug and kiss my hubby!

Date: 10/13/2009 2:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    I still have an iron on that my husband's Chief Petty Officer gave to me right after we got married that says the same thing (except substitute *Navy* Wife). I never did put it on a shirt

My job as a military spouse wasn't so tough - he was never more than 45 minutes away from me for more than 24 hours at a time, but I can see how it could be. You're strong... you'll do just fine.

Date: 10/15/2009 7:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 63871    Congratulations. What's his AIT that he has to stay at Leonard Wood? (I've heard it called Fort Lost in the woods haha). I'm sure he's itching to finish up his AIT and get out of there, from what I've heard it's a bit of a miserable place. I wish you guys luck. I'll be going to ft. Benning GA next summer for basic and AIT. Already been processed and gone through MEPS, just need to finish this last year of high school.
