Long hair blowing in the wind Metallica shirt over my skin Pointing the fingers, laying the blame Looking down upon those not playing your game Claiming I don't believe in God Claiming I'm always giving Satan a nod Assuming that I have no intelligence And always ignoring my given 2 cents
It's people like you who make us strong It's people like you that we prove wrong The music in our souls, the clothes on our back Seem to make you all feel inclined to attack
You think that we are all full of rage When it's us who are least likely to engage Telling us that we all need to get a life When it's not us who are so full of strife Treat us like freaks, tell your kids to hide When it's us who are good on the inside Doing your part to be accepted in society Taking up mundane trends over variety
It's people like you who make us strong It's people like you that we prove wrong The music in our souls, the clothes on our back Seem to make you all feel inclined to attack Different looks doesn't mean a thing So what if it's a different song we sing? Come back to me what you understand our ways Because we don't judge YOU by the music you play
*A battle cry against the people who claim metalheads are devil-worshipping, good for nothing criminals who are a threat to society. If anything, metal is good for society: it gives people a healthy way to deal with their problems and issues, rather than build it up inside and go on a rampage. I'm not saying all metalheads are perfect, we just deserve to be treated equally, that's all. By the way, this song isn't based on me because I personally haven't dealt with any of these issues, but it makes me mad when I see other metalheads have to deal with it.
