Throw the pieces down

Layering the earth
With unwanted girth
Rotting with our sins

Fast forward 20 years
Shadowed are our tears
By a deadly cloud
Coughing in the crowd
Lungs are darkening
From no-one hearkening
Watch the trees decay
Sunlight so far away
Tar covers the land
Crumbling just like sand
Rivers now dried to dust
From our lazy lust
No need to preserve
Some just had the nerve
To destroy our last chance
To take life's hand and dance
Fingers numb and cold
See down to the bone
Skeletons all stumble through
A land once green and blue
Abyss caused by our own
Who killed and raped the ozone
