@}~~ I had a medical procedure done yesterday and was given Propofol, you know the medication they say killed M.J. well I have to say, I don't know how he was able to function after taking such a medication, heck when I woke up my husband had to guide me to the car and I was sick and ended up with a headache so bad I thought my head was going to pop. Not to mention that when they inject you with the medication it burns like heck, and I mean burns, I was saying "Oh lord that hurts and was hitting the side of the bed and the Dr was saying don't worry, it won't burn for long {ok, he was right about that} but dang who in their right mind would want to take that drug. So if any of you youngsters are wondering what that drug is all about.. You will NOT get high, you will sleep and you most likely will get a killer headache and where they inject it.. will burn for 2 days.

How it changed my life:

Make me NOT want to ever take it again :)

Date: 8/12/2009 6:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    Jackson must have been so immune from taking so many other drugs that propofol may not have affected him in the same way as a normal person.
Date: 8/12/2009 6:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    Was it for pain or to avoid blood clots or something? I remember when I had my hysterectomy they gave me an injection before and after the surgery to prevent blood clots. It burned like a son of a gun!!
Date: 8/12/2009 6:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 16376    I have never had it given to me, but I have given it to many dogs before. It has its perks and negatives. The good thing about it is that it usually results in a quicker anesthetic recovery for the patient. The downsides are that it can cause apnea and other negative effects. I might not want to have it given to me after your experience though, LOL.

Beer works fine for me.
A thimbleful each evening.

Date: 8/13/2009 9:58:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22852    @}~~ Lady Luck, it is a medication to knock you out for surgery, the clot medication you mentioned also burns but that is a very mild burn compared to the Propofol. I had to have it again today but the Dr.s gave me something before hand so thankfully I didn't feel the burn, heck I don't remember anything after they wheeled me into the OR, LOL
