Well I have been with SWF, a franchise of Burger King now for 4 years. I was offered a store less then 2 years ago, but the Manager changed her mind on leaving; I was fine with that. She was going to school to better herself and I was still running the store anyways. Then I find out that behind my back she was telling the District Manager I was stealing money from the store. So she requested another Assistant Manager, which she got and then demanded I be transfered elsewhere.
So this brings us to the now present day at the store. The manager finally quit, but instead of me getting the store they gave it to the other assistant there. I am a traveling assistant so I was sent to make sure the store converted over easily. Think how surprised I was to find out I was being sent there full-time, because the new manager requested me. Well I happened to over hear them talking in the break area, as I walked past I heard my name; they stopped talking til I was in the dry storage area. Well as many know, a restaurant has great accoustics; sound travels everywhere if you are not talking silently enough. I decided to ignore the whole thing til I heard what they were talking about me about. The current manager said and I quote,"Now that Ray is here, I can let him do all the manager's work and he can train me to run the store. Wasn't that hard to make sure I got the store from him". The district manager said nothing in my defense, so I decided to step and and preceded to tell them both that they will be doing thier own work and as far as training a manager, I am an assistant manager; you will not be getting trained by me. The district manager has even offered me raises, bonuses and other things; sorry you can buy the best. The area manager and her have both said I am ready to be a district manager when a need arises, well sorry to say it but you can not buy the training from me....lol I have morals and principles and to train someone to do the job I already know is ridiculous, especially when she has said she wants me to do all the work anyways. We are to work 45 hours a week for our salary, or more. To date she is working 32 at best, because she thinks as the general manager she is entitled to leave as she wants to. Like on the 10th of August she starts vacation after her shift which is til 3pm, well she informed me today she is leaving at 9am when I come in. This leaves me alone on the frontline til 11am to do the counter and drive Thru. Wish they made us salaried managers punch in and out so I could prove all of this. With her lack in covering her hours I am stuck working 52 to 60 hours a week. They won't allow me to transfer either; as the store has come 360 since I came back and the employees are finally happy that they are heard and not ignored. How could I forget also, she can't accept any blame; it's always someone else's fault for what she has messed up.
Wish the economy was better and more places were hiring experienced managers, I would be so glad to go elsewhere so she can show her true nature to the upper management.
