Now, I know it’s wrong

But I cope through song

When all my hope is gone

I have to show I’m strong

But Genies are only fiction

And this is only a vision

So until their admission

I’m gonna keep on wishing




Do you know what it's like when times are rough?

Well I work full-time, I get paid twice a month

But I still can't afford to buy some stuff

Like a twenty-dollar movie

I wanted back in June and

Now it's almost August

And I still haven't bought it

No money in my wallet

No change in my pocket

No food in my stomach

I'm lucky if I get to eat once a day

And let me tell you, what I eat is not that great

McDonald's 'cause I work there, employee discount

Old milk, how long's it been there? Ignore the smell

Ramen noodles, unflavored and four years old

Don't wanna be rich, just wish I wasn't so [darn] broke

I gotta chose between phone and cable

I just wish I was financially stable

I've been homeless before

I don't wanna go back and return

They tell me money is the root

Three wishes -- I want it, wish number two
