There are three purposes to this post.
The first is to explain the author of the week awards. If you were chosen as author of the week in the past you will eventually get an award noting the month, year, and in some cases the exact week in which you were chosen.
This is all because of Hangman. He is the one that designed the award and he is the one that kept a detailed list of all the people that have been chosen as Author of the Week.
Each time a new author is selected, they will get an award from either Hangman or myself because the award is now made. Everyone who has been the AOTW since the award was made has received the award, if you have been an AOTW before and did not receive an award with the honor, that is because the award didn't exist yet.
Every single person who was AOTW will eventually receive the award. But Hangman and I are limited to how often we can give them, and also sometimes we are busy offline and do not have as much time to devote as we would like to giving out the past awards.
Also for the many who have asked, we are not randomly giving the awards out, we have a system, a completely fair system and no one will be forgotten. After we have completed the list we will make a post to make sure we didn't miss anyone. So please be patient. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have about the awards and they will be answered in this post.
The second purpose of this post is to ask for nominations for author of the week and month. Hangman and I do our best to find deserving people, but if you know anyone who deserves author of the week or month or poet who has never had it before, please nominate them in Hamgman's, Kronk's or my profile. USMers love when others recognize their contributions here.
The third thing to note: There was an overwhelming response to the USM interviews. They were started by Space Case and unfortunately she had to stop doing them. I did them for years but stopped after I had some pc trouble. I have a list with about 5 more people to go and then I will be starting a brand new sign up list, which will be first come, first post, :) so watch for that in the next few days. And any time Spacie is ready she will take over the interviews again or we may even both be posting them.
