Date: 7/20/2009 12:25:00 PM From Authorid: 21903 I am not exactly sure, but I'm pretty sure with a difference like that (being only 13 and you being a legal adult) that is def dangerous and you shouldn't risk it. It probably differs from state-to-state as well. I don't know if there is a website you can look it up on or what, but wtg being smart enough to say no way to this girl!! |
Date: 7/20/2009 12:28:00 PM From Authorid: 13119 actually if you want to know the truth about her age ask her parents, they will respect that you want to do the right thing and if she is lying about her age they will be able to deal with her. |
Date: 7/20/2009 12:29:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62163 thanks, 13-18 is def. illegal. |
Date: 7/20/2009 12:32:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 Yikes, run in the opposite direction!! I'm not sure I'd bother even asking her parents because she is going to be mad now no matter what...just be glad you've gotten out before anything happened. |

I once was decieved by looks... my co-worker brought her friend in and she was 5'9, very developed, and I was staring at her cause at the time I was shy around girls....and then my co-worker said "guess how old she is?" I said 18, "lower", "17", "lower" and she said she's 13. I stopped staring at her right then and there...I was 18 at the time.... But my cousin Jimmy is the same way..He looks like he's 23, and he's only 17...But I guess it's different for guys looking older. |
Date: 7/20/2009 12:52:00 PM From Authorid: 35720 In Pennsylvania, the legal age of consent is 14.. but only for people 18 and younger [so if you're 14, you can sleep with people aged 14-18.] The legal age of consent to sleep with anyone you want is 16. I don't know how it is anywhere else & don't really care anymore, because I'm 23 and definitely wouldn't date a minor haha. |
Date: 7/20/2009 12:59:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62163 Same here. If it was only like 2 years, it wouldn't be that bad. I'm not saying to sleep around, I'm saying for a relationship. But I guess the law doesn't care either way. |
Date: 7/20/2009 1:02:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62163 Shes 13 and look old enough to be 18. |
Date: 7/20/2009 1:02:00 PM From Authorid: 22852 18 to 13 stay away. I don't know the exact law but I know if I had a daughter I wouldn't allow her to date an 18yr old. |
Date: 7/20/2009 2:03:00 PM From Authorid: 31048 It varies from state to state. In my state 16 is the age of consent and I think that's the general rule all over but if I were you I'd find out your state's laws just to be on the safe side...I know someone who dated a 15 year old at 18 and ended up in prison for 2 years...he's a felon now and has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life so you definitely don't want that! |
Date: 7/20/2009 2:59:00 PM From Authorid: 54444 it depends on the parents. My daughters and granddaughters are not legal until 40 |
Date: 7/20/2009 3:34:00 PM From Authorid: 49689 the law varies from state to state..The legal age of consent here in Indiana is 16 |
Date: 7/20/2009 4:23:00 PM From Authorid: 63366 In North Carolina age of consent is 16 anyone younger is breaking the law. And you can't be more than 3 years older unless married. Also if the person is younger than 16 it is a felony which will follow you for ever. |
Date: 7/20/2009 5:26:00 PM From Authorid: 39321 It varies by state. In South Dakota if you are 16 you have to date above 16. After 16 it has to be within three years above your age until the age of 18. Personally I think age is just a number. I'm 19 and my boyfriend is going to be 36 in a month. I am completely happy with him. My parents like him and his parents like me so it's all good. |
Date: 7/20/2009 6:23:00 PM From Authorid: 10657 I find a problem in that she's 13 not 16 if she is truly under the age of 16 then I would say move on it's not worth it. |

Also as someone has already stated I have a friend as well and this was Texas when he was 21 he engaged in a relationship with a girl that told him she was 18 and she looked it as well to him. The parents pressed charges against him and that's when he learned she was only 15. So he is now a registered sex offender and he isn't even allowed to be alone with his own daughters because he chose to believe that the 15 year old was indeed 18. Legal consent in Ohio and Texas is 16 in some states legal consent is 14 however. |
Date: 7/20/2009 6:56:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 Legal age over here in aussieland is 16 in all states. But to be honest, there is so much going on with underage girls and older guys that it seems to be the normal now. It is so hard to tell just by appearance as to how old they are, and unless their immature behaviour shows through, I can't imagine any young red blooded guy NOT looking and chasing them, no matter how old he is. I haven't seen anything in the news etc where guys are charged with dating etc underage girls..I don't think it's right but that's the way society is going these days..JMO!! |

i don't remember the law (my daughter is almost 25 and it was never a problem with her) but i want to say THANK YOU! i would not have minded one bit if a boy asked me my daughter's age. and i wouldn't have cared how mad she got and i would have had respect for the boy. OMG... does that make any sense? i am so sleepy! |

done moved on, I was just curious about it. This happened a few months back. |
Date: 7/20/2009 8:11:00 PM From Authorid: 13636 Ask for her ID, and copy it like you would if you were an employer. Then, if anything happens, show the authorities her ID. |
Date: 7/21/2009 6:01:00 AM From Authorid: 46486 If she's 13 I'd just stay away. |
Date: 7/21/2009 8:46:00 AM From Authorid: 33401 The laws vary in each state I'd check your states laws. if she is 13v then dont bother. Love, |

It varies by state. Here in Alabama, I am pretty sure it's that you can't be 2 years and 1 or two days older than the other person, if you are 18, and the person is younger than 16. We had a big issue here about a year ago, where a football player allegedly slept with a girl that he thought was 16. It ended up she was 14, and when her parents found out, he was in super trouble. My advice to any guy, or girl, that is 18 and in the dating world, where they might meet someone younger than 16 (which I think is the average in most states) ask to meet their parents. ASK their parents how old their child is- they won't lie to you, they'd have no reason to, and would respect you by asking. It's better to get the girl or guy in trouble with their parents for lying, than going on their word alone that they are old enough for you not to get in trouble for dating. Id's can be faked, and appearances these days can be deceiving. Good luck. *hugs* |

That should say, and the person is over 16 years old, not younger than 16. 16 is the age of consent, but the 2 year 1-2 day rule is a guideline for all. So if you're exactly 16; you can date someone exactly 2 years younger than you, and so forth. If you are 18 you can't date anyone under 16. Does that make better sense? *hugs* |
Date: 7/21/2009 12:09:00 PM From Authorid: 53284 If she is really wants to date you ask to see her drivers license. If she can't produce one, then run far away. I don't think that there are any laws that would keep you from having coffee together, but you should never be alone with her. Personally, I'd cut her loose and find someone my own age. |
