Old Bluff Church Averasboro BattleField. Cumberland County, North Carolina. 12:30 am June 26th 2009
It was a dark, cloudy night in Harnett county where me and my friends met up. We pulled out of the Wal-mart Gas station after picking up a pack of cigarettes each and lighter, heading towards Erwin and down Highway 82....... We pull into the radio station a good 50 yards away from the driveway to the gatekeepers house. Just to look for a parking spot. A Cumberland county sheriff rides by, going where we came from. So I pull out and continue the way I was going. He then turns around and follows me, runs my tags and turns around. We come back to where we were going to park and did so. Walked up to the driveway and around where we thought was a motion sensor( or so we heard), that turned on a light at the gatekeepers house. Walked on down the drive until we got close enough to see that it was the porch light on not a room light. Then we snuck through the corn field, with the scare crows, and corn snakes. Walking through the cemetary, careful not to step on any graves, the temperature kept changing, shivering cold, the sweaty Hot, I lit a cigarette, calming my nerves so to try and tell a difference. Still the difference was there. But we kept walking, then my buddy stopped suddenly behind me, staring at a blinking light in the distance, which appeared to me to be a strobing camera. So I finally convinced them to continue, me leading most of the time, we come to a light in the woods, real faint. but def. there. We stared at it, talking about it for at least 15 min. Then we decided to walk up on it and see what it was........ A metal sign. We walked down the " Changing steps", where the steps going down and up are different numbers. Busted, all 4 of us counted the same number. Also another rumor was that all technology quit working after midnight. I was able to text this whole time. We come up to the church, and realize that Old Bluff Church is exactly it's name......an Old Bluff.
Story behind the hauntings:
50 years ago, the man and woman, who owned the farm, were sitting on the farm house porch, not a cloud in site. Killed them both DEAD.....Supposively of course.
