I recently tried the raw food diet with my boyfriend... and I lost 20 lbs... very quickly and it wasn't because I didn't eat it was because I was eating only fruits and vegetables. I also was having breakfast juices/smoothies every morning and only drank water and homemade juice. This is a great way to eat... not diet because once you stop you will slowly gain weight back... not a lot but you need to stick to this... we did this for a while and it becomes tough due to we didn't have the money for expensive kitchen items... so we incorporated a few things into our diet which were sprouted bread, organic/raw peanut butter, fish, seafood, brown rice and quinoa, and soy/hemp milk and greek yogurt. Buy all things organic (if you can) and eat smaller yet more frequent meals. Since you said your always on the go make meals the night before to take with you. Its simple to cook up some veggies and brown rice or make a salad. For exercising walking is good for you and also crunches... do lower crunches look them up on google and stretching.... lol now if only I can stick to that plan... its not hard and its good for you in the long run... not just to lose weight but to be healthy. Good luck and sorry for rambling! |

Date: 6/21/2009 9:45:00 AM From Authorid: 61968 well for starters, dont cut out everything that you eat, you will eventually have a lapse unless you are super strong willed. Start by reducing what you eat...instead of the large fries, get the small fries, instead of the soda get water or unsweetened tea, thats the first step, once you get past that, then you can day by day start to phase out the junk and eat healthier. Try to stay away from sweetened beverages, soda, sweet tea, coffee with sugar and creamer...you can have tea and coffee, just drink it straight..actually a cup of coffee in the morning is good to get the metabolism moving. Things you can take, if you have a fridge you can take some carrot sticks and celery sticks for snacks, make tuna wraps ( spinach tortillas are the best ) throw in some veggies, onions, peppers, lettuce. Now, you should try to eat 5 times a day...breakfast should be the most important, than maybe some veggies before lunch, a sensible lunch, tuna sandwhich or wrap, glass of water, cottage cheese, then some fruit between lunch and dinner, and then a decent dinner, try not eat 3 hours before you go to bed. If you want to learn some excersises you can google "calisthenics", these are excersises you can do without weights or going to the gym. Of course there is running, walking, riding a bike, raking your yard, washing your car...I could go on for days about proper dieting and workouts..if you ever have any questions or just need some advice you can message me anytime, I would be glad to help. I am in the Army, and I have had to learn alot of things about excersise and diet to keep myself healthy as well as my Soldiers... |

I like blueberries and coffee for breakfast. For lunch I drink a smoothing of orange juice and a banana. Dinner is a small piece of chicken and some greens. No desserts, and I never eat 2nd helpings. All this and I am not thin by any means. I have a spare tire too. I don't exercise like I would like, but I think aerobics is the key to weight loss. Feeling the burn. |
Date: 6/21/2009 9:39:00 PM From Authorid: 62887 if your always on the go and such...you should go onto the different fast food resturants websites and figure out which meals have few calories and such...also...try not to drink anything with fat or many calories..(water...if you have a major soda craving try getting a light colored diet soda like sprite...or like everyone else is saying..unsweetened tea)...after a bit of time try to eliminate all fast food and stick with veggies and fruit...microwave dinners can also become expensive so try investing in a george forman grill at least and cook fish..chicken..and very lean meats on that...g-luck:P |
