I'm a little bit creeped out... trying to apply logic here...

Today while I was taking a shower, I heard what sounded like someone throw an aluminum bottle of hairspray across the bathroom and onto the floor. That noise was immediately followed by what sounded like someone picking it back up and putting it back on the counter. It's a pretty large bathroom, and I was showering in the whirlpool  (we have it set up like that because I'm weird about baths). We live in my parents' house right now as they are living in Harrogate, England for the next few years.

Now I remember when I was around 10, one of my sisters was in this bathroom and came running out, crying hysterically, saying she saw the faucet on the bath turn and watched as the water started running by itself. My parents didn't think I heard any of this; I was around the corner pretending to be in my room, but I heard them talking to her about how they had heard things, too, but not to fret, that it was benevolent and would go away. I believe there was implication that the ghostly perpetrators were my Mom's parents.

I didn't immediately think anything was odd about the sound I had heard, until I poked my head out and realized that I had had the door shut, and that nothing was out of place. Stephen was in the living room playing Rock Band, and the pets were all outside. I got a little weirded out and just resumed my shower, trying to make sense of the noise. (Maybe something fell? Maybe I just can't see it from here and it fell. That's it. Stop being paranoid.) But nothing explained the noise of it being placed back.

What is stranger, still, is that a few minutes later, Stephen came into the bathroom and said "Yeah, what do you need?"... Come to find out, he said he had heard me yelling his name for several minutes but could not pause his game because he was playing online and you can't pause those. (Lucky I wasn't really in need of him, eh? LOL) He said he clearly heard me screaming "Stephen! Come here!"...

I'm a little unnerved, not sure what to think of this or if there is supposed to be meaning here. If you guys think there should be a logical explanation, please help me reach it. :) Already scared living here, what with the snakes in the walls and everything...

Thanks in advance ! PS-- can't wait to meet those in attendance Friday! :)

hasn't changed my life. should it?

That's creepy though, I would definitely be weirded out.

Date: 6/8/2009 3:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 16916    That is creepy. My faucet in my bathroom turns itself on all the time...scares the crud outta me when I'm showering. For my own sanity I have chalked it up to air forcing water out of the pipes and turning the faucet on..LOL maybe i'm right, maybe not but it keeps me from never wanting to shower! LOL.
Date: 6/8/2009 4:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 10657    I don't think I'd be creeped out but that's just me. Now the calling your boyfriend and telling him to come here might make me go hmm lol.

Date: 6/8/2009 5:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 22852    Next time it happens just say hello, it seems if it is a spirit it is a friendly one. I always say hello to spirits that make themselves known.
Date: 6/8/2009 6:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 24673    Very interesting--does sound like a friendly spirit, maybe family, like your mom said. It would still scare me, though.
Date: 6/8/2009 9:08:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64604    Rika, you're right I think! I think I do that with words a lot, logistics is a pretty word so I used it instead of logic.
Date: 6/8/2009 9:13:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64604    Jelliebean, I know! I thought about water pressure also.. But she said she saw the taps actually turning back and forth. Still could be water pressure though I think.
Date: 6/8/2009 9:17:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64604    Garbage, yeah I definitely think its friendly. I didn't feel like something was going to harm me. Mostly the fact that Steve heard me calling him urgently is what is weighing on my mind. Maybe it was a bad spirit at first and then the good spirit used my voice to call Stephen and interrupt?? O.o
Date: 6/8/2009 11:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 28848    How old is the house?
Date: 6/8/2009 1:42:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64604    The house is about 30 years old, but was built new. There have been previous occurences though, nothing has ever actually materialized and all events have been very small, very sporadic, and never threatening. Nothing like this though.
Date: 6/8/2009 1:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    I'm more creeped out by what your son heard than the can of hairspray falling.
Date: 6/8/2009 6:10:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64604    Releaseme, I agree! It scared me more, but the fact that it coincided with the hairspray thing makes it stranger. By the way, Stephen's my fiance, we don't have kids yet
Date: 6/8/2009 9:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 30621    I think bathrooms oughta be off limits to ghost.
Date: 6/8/2009 9:24:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64604    i completely agree, someday. you already feel vulnerable as it is!
Date: 6/9/2009 7:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 14314    That sounds scary!!! God Bless
Date: 7/15/2009 8:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 63962    Snakes in the walls?! 0_0 Tell me about that, I am curious.
