It can't be the same thing as Y2K cause 2012 doesn't deal with computers...2012 predictions by the Mayans deal with the earth, and mankind...I do believe there is something going on, and it deals with spiritual awakening, and it will be a more peaceful era after 2012.  |

I'm with you; I just don't think we're going to know that the world is going to end when it does. It is simply just the end of another cycle. My feeling?? I think that when someone realized they made the calander to last up until 2012 they realized they were getting carried away b/c they were not going to live that long! 
But I do agree that some of these "record breaking" weather phenomena are scary! I also get scared sometimes just thinking about how immoral humanity seems sometimes anymore. But you are right, when there is some kind of big tragedy, people still do unite together...I dunno. No one really knows whats going to happen nor where we'll be so much as 1 year from now. I guess just hope for the best.  |

it is pretty scary to fathom, me and my girlfriend made my brother's girlfriend cry with all the signs pointing to December 21st at 11:11 am that the world will end.
The one that concerns me the most is the worlds largest particle accelerator, they will run their first true test in 2012 and it may create a blackhole and swallow us all.
i dunno, we will have to wait and see.  |

The world is not going to end....but is going to be cleaned up and brought back to it's original pristine beauty as it was before. This happens every 26,000 years. We have all been through this before and will be again. Later on we will not use any money ...but we will use bartering when we need something.Our time will change ..or perhaps it will be non existent. Right now many people have not awakened yet. There will be a leap in human consciousness . There will be others that will live on our planet if they like and we may also visit their planets so that we may learn their tecknology etc. Just a few things I have learned from those who know.  |

also here's somthing to thing about as far as time is concerned...if i am not mistaken, the second has been shortened by a tiny bit to correspond with the earth's increased speed of daily revolutional wobbles...therefore when 12-21-12 comes and goes and everyone let's out a sigh of relief, it could come a day or two later depending on whether or not that shaved second has impact on the Mayan predictions. the bartering as mentioned in a comment above is already begun as an underground means of getting by in many Amerucan communities...but hey, my birth was bartered for a grill...that oughta have been some grill,eh?! |

According to Mayan(sp) calendar, the world will "end". Not very hopeful, but I dont think they meant the final and total END - I think it means though that, the world as we know it is going to end, and a new era will be born. Who knows, maybe the Economic Crisis will end, Terrorism will stop, and more and more people will be enlightened spiritually, and metaphysically. With all the strange weather that's been going on around the world, Nature could be trying to heal itself, the best way it knows how. All of the hardship we've been facing will eventually level out, and the outcome will be something historical. Definitely Something to think about.  |

One prediction about 2012 is emminent. It is my daughter's birthday on that day and she will be 20 years old. Alot of 2s in her birthday. In order to prevent any explosion of the earth in any possible way, she is not going to blow out her candles and just eat the cake around them. I think there is great change ahead for all. One can see it if they just take time, in their lifes to sit and think about all that has happened this year, year before that and before that. Change is not always a scarey thing or the end of this world. I agree full about the change thats ahead, but not the end. I think that the change ahead is of humans. They will and have already have been becoming more aware and spiritual of themselfs and surroundings. I Say this because, People are asking more Q's on the unknown. And to ask a question of this sort, is the rasing of awareness. Weather and such is as is and we always hear of weather storms and such. But never before have I heard more ppl ask for advice from gifted ones than these day and ages. Yes awareness I think is growing. Just my point of veiw  |

I personally think the Mayans simply ran out of rocks to print more calendar dates on. Or that the rest of the calender was destroyed over the years. I've always been told that no one but God knows when the world will end and if someone did happen to guess it, it would change. Just my opinion though. |
