Just An Update on Little Old Me........... ~Rika~

Well, first and foremost, we've finished up training for our jobs. We got our first paycheck today AND some extremely good news.

A month ago, we heard about an apartment complex that allowed Pit Bulls. I was skeptical at first, so I called to make sure. I asked her if there were any breed restrictions and she asked what kind of dog I had. My heart dropped and I said, "She's an American Pit Bull Terrier." There wasn't even hesitation- she said, "Oh yeah, Pits are absolutely fine! I have two of them!" We've searched high and low for places that accept Pits for 2 years.. and FINALLY we've found one. We filled out a rental application, but I was worried, because we both have bad credit and no rental history.

I got a call from the landlord asking me to call her back and when I did, she expressed her concerns about our credit.. but when I explained to her that we are looking for stability and just kinda defended my credit, she said that with a double security deposit, we could move in AND there's a special where they're only charging half a month's rent for the first two months!

We went out in a blizzard to pay the deposit right away to secure the place. Lol, we weren't taking any chances. Anyway, this is my first apartment in MY name, so I'm super excited. And Bailey is 100% welcome which... well, words can't describe how relieved I am.

Anyway, our next feat is a car. Normally, we would have gone for the car first, but we met a friend at work and we carpool with him (don't worry, we give him gas money), so we're taking a little more time to make sure we get a good deal and a reliable car. Plus, with our tax returns coming up, we feel that we should hold off for a nicer car when we have a little more money.

ANNNND.. another thing I'm excited about is getting my new phone tomorrow. I'm getting a Blackberry. I went in thinking I was going to have to pay a $300 or $400 fee for the phone because of my bad credit, but nope! Only the price of the phone upfront. I don't know what I deserved to get all this great luck lately, but I sure appreciate it.
