nope, see he had taken the water pump off and put silicone all over where the gasket was supposed to be (Blue silicone on a GM Engine is NOT standard equipment. So he sealed the leak temporarily and dint tell us about it. We told him we needed to know if something was wrong because it would be used to take Nathan to Shriners in Chicago and UW Childrens Hospital...so we needed reliability and needed to know what to fix. PNK is right, blatent lie. We almost broke down on our first trip to the hospital because of this issue, so Dude that lied, Karma isnt nice!!! Specially when its negative Karma.

Get a gasket and put some Indian Head gasket sealer on both sides of it. Make sure the block and the pump are super clean before puting the sealer on. Be careful because that stuff is super messy and sticky. It only comes off your skin with Isoprophol alcohol or PB Blaster. It will not leak again. Yea Blue silicone it junk anyway. I never use it or ever will unless it's an emergency. I don't even have any of that stuff. Good luck to ya all. Karma will do it's job in due time. |

Should have taken it to your own mechanic to see if anything was wrong before buying it. |

...used cars can go wrong at any time. The seller may have been telling you the truth as far as he knew. Some faults can't be seen on the surface and even the best mechanics can't pin down problems accurately. You should be happy that the transmission didn't drop out onto the road. I hope you got all the problems fixed up and you can now enjoy your new ride. |

I am sorry that anyone would do such a thing to someone...especially when they were taking a child to the hospital and needed a car that was reliable. More and more people are beginning to realize that when they pull a trick like this that it will return to them in spades.... and he will pay dearly for it too, there is no escape! |

Creech, we got a new one with a factory gasket LOL It was 38 bucks. Better to have new than used or not correctly installed. Don't read too much into this.....It's just the point that he knew it was going to fail. He knew. The silicon was still NEW. He had done it or had it done. He knew, Why not tell us it needed done? It is a very cheap and easy fix. Why not just tell us? And as for telling him, why? So he can lie again? Nah, Karma is alive and well my friends. |

It is possible he didn't know. Is it the vehicle you posted a pic of? The GM van? Those things were plagued with problems from the start... and that one was an older one. |
