Date: 1/25/2009 8:17:00 PM From Authorid: 15394 RSV lung infection essentially... very dangerous to compromised infants... premature infants get a 1500.00 RSV vaccine every month during RSV season.... RSV is VERY VERY contagious, adults can get it and give it but usually it seems a cold to them, to infants turns into pneumonia type symptoms and can be very damaging to lung tissue... |

Date: 1/26/2009 7:52:00 AM From Authorid: 62579 All I know is it can be very dangerous and it effects the lungs. My niece had it as a baby and she had to be put in an oxygen tent for days. The hospital was sending out very sick babies to better hospitals because they were near death. My daughter was born pre-mature 2 pounds 6 ounces. After she came home she got a shot in the winter for 2 years. It was to prevent her from getting RSV because if she did she had a high chance of death. |
