It started when we ran to WalMart around 9pm last night.  By the time we left wallyworld, it was really coming down. My hubby and I drove around in it and listened to The Nutcracker, I am in the Christmas Spirit now!  It was wonderful to see, and so unexpected.  After Ike and so much ugliness and debris, it was nice to see the island covered in white and to see all the christmas lights up.

That's the palm tree outside our window.  There is a little lizard that lives in it, and every night he comes out

and crawls up the window and catches the tiny moths that are attracted to the light.  We call him "lizard on the window".

I got some good video too, as soon as I find the cable to download it to my computer I will put it on youtube or something.  It was really snowing hard for a while, and big fat snowflakes too.   About once every 5 years or so, it snows down here.  Check out our old balcony that has now survived Ike, Rita, Alicia, Carla, 1915 and 1900 Hurricanes.

Date: 12/12/2008 7:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 64365    I think the last good snow in the Galveston area was like in 2003 or 2004. Probably it was 2003. The time before that was in 1989, and we had a white Christmas that year.

Date: 1/7/2009 5:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey there, Katlillie! Yep, we got our snow and it really was neat looking. I got to see and "be" in it, all night long. (Working the nightshift that week.) I love the reference to your porch. Isn't it wild, the way some of those houses have survived so much. Good to read you, lady. Thanks for sharing the picts with us. Write on....
