What is likely to be Caylee Marie Anthony's remains found less than 1/4 mile from the Anthony house

This is both a very sad day because it confirms what everyone had feared but deep in our hearts we already knew, and also a day of "elation" as Leonard Padilla said because it is finally over.

Closure can be brought. A funeral can be had. Justice can be served.

I have been following this case since it started in mid July. I am going to reach out to the grandparents as I have in the past. I feel they are very much victims in this case as well.



Things we do know about the remains found today:

1.Bones were found in black trash bag, not yet confirmed if it is a complete skeleton.

2. There was duct tape found at the crime scene (possibly around the skull or over the child's mouth). The fellow who discovered her was a utility worker and stopped to relieve himself in the woods. "He came across the trash bag, gave it a kick out of the way, and a skull rolled out with duck tape on it"

3. The police have NOT confirmed publicly it's Caylee's body, but say no other children around that age is missing in Orange County that they are aware of. They are quoted as saying "We got her."

4. The medical examiner and the crime lab is on the scene.

5. They are securing the Anthony home on Hopespring Drive, and not letting anyone in or out. Before they did that, a women pulled into the driveway and ran inside the house. The media believe it is Lee's girlfriend (Casey's brother). She ran inside, and then police pulled up and knocked on the door. It took her about 10 minutes to get to the door (according to media witnesses).

6. The media doesn't know why they are securing the Anthony home, but believe there is evidence inside they will want to collect or it will possibly be a crime scene.

7.The body was about 45-50 feet back in the woods from the road, less than 1/4 mile from the child's home.

8. This area was underwater during the summer, and stays underwater during the summer.

9. They have closed the elementary school to get the kids away from the crime scene.



Three-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony was last seen alive June 16. Thirty one days later her grandmother reported her missing.

This child was literally disposed of like garbage.

Just a note: Caylee Anthony was the second most popular search on yahoo in 2008, second to hurricanes, and this case only happened in July.
