Deliver Us From Evil Segment 3: Into the void
Nosaj went back to sleep after getting a glass of water and wiping the vanishing sweat beads trickling down his head. This time he didn't dream after dozing back off, shaking off the dream, so real....
Nosaj awoke to a bright, sunny day again and got breakfast ready....his wood and fire oven cooked some pancakes and eggs for him as he poured ale into a small glass, setting his food and drink on the table when ready. He ate heartily, afterwards bathing himself in a small back room complete with tub full of water and cleansing substance liquids. Before bathing, he shaved what little facial hair he had abruptly and relaxed in the tub, trying to shake off last night's dream....'What was that all about, what does it mean, and why do I keep thinking of it so much?' He asked himself numerous times.
'Oh, well,' Nosaj shrugged quitely. 'Time for another day at work.' He rode his donkey into the heart of the village to the bakery and stopped his donkey at a nearby stable. Oiram, the manager, greeted him as usual and Nosaj said 'Hello,' back. Nosaj then walked past Oiram and into the joint itself, eyeing a shuddering and chilled to the bone seemingly Airam. Nosaj asked, almost with a chuckle, 'What happened to you? Abominable Snowman after ya?' Airam snapped frightfully, 'I can't shake off this chill. I went to bed and, sometime during the night I got all cold all of a sudden. Yes, I'm really ok, but just trying to think back on why and how just brings me back to the chills the most.' What of Nosaj's grin there was suddenly disappeared. 'I had a weird dream last night.' Airam replied, 'Do tell.'
Nosaj told Airam his entire story vividly of the eye among the village and the deep voice echoing, 'The golden coin...among this village...' After that, the two decided to work and keep it to themselves 'til they were done working in the next few hours. 3 in the afternoon. Their shift was over for the day and the two pondered what their dreams could have meant. After riding their donkeys back to their homes, they walked through the countryside and into the woods. Nosaj muttered, 'Wild dreams lead us into wild areas and don't forget about our'---'SHHH!!!' Airam interrupted quickly. They both listened in the forest quiet. A growling sound was near and getting closer. 'Oh, dear. Not that stupid bear again,' Nosaj sneered. Suddenly the forest frew completely quiet. 'Ya think he's gone?' Airam whispered. 'I don't know,' Nosaj replied. ''RRRRRAAWWWWWRRRR!!!!' A bellowing roar surged behind them under some wild bushes as a large, 10 foot, brown bear jumped before them. The two boys screamed as Airam somersaulted to a pile of leaves and Nosaj bolted behind a large stump, recovering a huge stick with broken, sharp-looking end to it. Grabbing the stick and standing up, Nosaj came out from behind his hiding spot and yelled enthusiastically, 'Take a good roar at this!' then lunged at the bear unaware of the bear's arm about to strike him in the face. The bear swung his arm with brute strength at the boy, but not before being jabbed in the chest by the large stick. The bear roared before collapsing on the ground.
Airam came out from under the leaves and went to the tree that the back of Nosaj's body had been flung against after the bear's strike. Airam held his hand to Nosaj's mouth. No sign of breathing. He then placed his palm at Nosaj's heart. Nosaj Seehrov was dead. 'No...' Airam weeped. 'NO!!!'
A purple-black mist area was all that Nosaj could see. 'Hey, Airam! When did we end up'--Nosaj looked around. 'Here...' He was all alone in a strange land full of nothing but black and purple with rapid-sounding but smooth, cool, refreshing winds all around him. A cheerful, high voice said to him, echoing, 'Why, you're in the middle of a near death experience in this dimension! And, I think you'll do perfect to fight the forces of evil, my boy!' 'Near death experience?!? How the heck'-- A beautiful, pale woman with a mane of raven black hair and blue eyes wearing a silver and black toga came flying down to him, telling him, 'My name is LieRa and I'm the entity for those between the function of living and the door for the dead! You seem to be a fine individual ready to face the horrors of this world and the next, my friend. To go back to your body for now, you must promise me that you are willing and we will meet again soon. But to refuse means that you stay here! Ha Ha ha!' She laughed delightedly. Nosaj looked in awe...
