Barack Obama

I debated whether or not I should post this but I decided to, even though I know there are people who will not agree with me on this...

This post is what impressions I get from President-elect Obama. But first a "background". (It will make the rest of the post easier to understand...) Recently there have been 2 people in my life, both of whom I learned to trust my instinct with - In The Begining. Because I didn't with these two. I got a bad feeling about these both in the begining (but Not with Obama). And these 2 had a "manipulative" personality. Flirty, like to make you feel good about (myself). But there was always that nagging "why the heck are you in a relationship with them" feeling. That I should have trusted my instincts in the first place with these two, only to discover after great hardship emotionally, that I was right all along. It was like there was discord INSIDE me, a feeling that I shouldn't trust them. It never came from OUTSIDE.

With Obama, way back when it had just come down to Hillary and Obama (from Edwards) and was actually thinking of voting for someone else... I didn't know about Obama at the time, but the first time I saw him, for some reason I knew I would vote for him. I also never got that nagging INSIDE feeling that I shouldn't trust him. I say that because time and time again I would go to websites or hear something on Fox news that would make me question whether or not I should trust Obama. Again, this feeling came from OUTSIDE, and it was a different feeling of doubt. But time and time again, no matter what the media would say about him, there was this feeling of something deeper about him that the media wouldn't talk about. A good feeling. Like he had more to give the world than we could see. This doubt only came from the outside and only from the internet and media. I always fell back on this internal feeling I got from him.

I get this also from the logical side. From the research I've done and just by reading his bodylanguage and other subtle clues that I'm usually dead correct about what they're really thinking.

If you don't want everyone else to see your response, put it in author only mode in this post. If you send me a Profile message I might not read it. I really want to know what other "sensitive" people have to say about him.

By the way, in the same way, McCain, on doing research on him and the feelings I get when he talks... let me just say that I didn't vote for him for many reasons. His promises never met up with his past.

Date: 11/24/2008 6:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 22188    I wouldn't call myself a sensitive by any means, but I am intuitive when it comes to reading people. I tend to always look for the good and to be rather optimistic, but I'm not all that naive. Personally, the only reservation I have about Obama is that he's too good to be true. You're right though, his body language and rhetoric all seem to reaffirm his sincerity. I really hope in ten or twenty years, we are able to look back at his term in office and see him as the one who led us to prosperity. We need another FDR
Date: 11/24/2008 6:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 8726    ok..that is strange you would say that, cause my cousin said she wasn't going to vote on election day and suddenly she just felt at the last minute that she should go out and vote for Obama and I thought this was the only case of this that I heard of until your post. Take care.
Date: 11/24/2008 6:16:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 17290    I wasn't going to vote for Hillary, and what I really meant was that he would be around for a while, I could just feel it...
Date: 11/24/2008 6:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 8726    Im from Chicago so I knew about him before he was running for Prez
Date: 11/24/2008 6:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 17290    What do you mean at the last minute, right before the election?
Date: 11/24/2008 6:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 14909    I used my computer with "lie detective" software during the debates and deferent other speeches. Obama and McCain both strecthed the truth but Obama was more apt to be more honest. I should say Obama actually believed in what he was saying. It's hard to explain but I think you get what I'm saying.
Date: 11/24/2008 8:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 7830    i get the "too good to be true" feeling too.
Date: 11/25/2008 11:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 8726    I mean like at 5 or 6 just before the poll was set to close
Date: 1/11/2009 6:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 61811    Just as in every election, it is the lesser of two evils.
Date: 1/16/2009 10:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 64688    I liked it I have a Great Feeling about Mr.Obama too I know he is going to be a Great President I am sure of it.
Date: 1/23/2009 9:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 53836    I swear by my next statement...from the very 1st time I heard him speak, as the keynote speaker at the democratic convention for Kerry, I prayed that our country would be so great as to make him president. 4+ years later, you have no idea of the depth of my joys. I believe he believes in his vision of restoring all that AMerica should be. So, I will stand behind him, hope with him and work with him towards the common goals of equality, peace, health, & prosperity.
