First, all this time we (Dad and I) have spelled it wrong. It took my Sister (I don't think of her as an in law) to tell us Dad didn't know what the birds he was talking about.
It is Shrewsbury Marc Syndrome.
First derived from the Earl of Shrewsbury with only a case of fused elbows. Obviously it's alot more than that with these 6 people, but hey, gotta start somewhere eh?
Breezy, my niece, has told me all her trials and she being only 18 has the best recollection of the little things I will need to know. Like most common injuries, broken fingers and scraped palms.
Breezy, Fawn and Shane have told me about the surgeries. Lord. Probibly about 40 between the 3 of them, if not 60 or more. Who knows. But it's just unreal.
Fawn told me how to dress Nathan, very important thing to know the proper way to do! Arms first, then over the head. Then to get it off, pull up from the bottom and over the head. The arms will drop right out like it was no big fuss. Clothing guys, is literally the easiest way to break fingers when they are little.
When Nathan learns to walk, before he realises to go palms down, not fingers down, well, broken fingers. OH OH and dodgeball, not an option. LOL.
Nathan himself has taught me patience and strength. This is so much to take in in a few weeks. This is so much to have to learn, remember, recite, practise, preach........At the same time of being so special due to Shrewsbury Marc, he's still a baby too! SO the up all nights, the feedings, the diaper changes, the hating baths and water and hating cold, the fusses, the ALL OF IT! Good Lord. I keep telling God to give me strength.
What does God do, how does he answer me and give me what I pray of him? More stuff to deal with :) God does indeed work in mysterious ways.
The first of the Nathan trials is over. The arm is so well and good today, when it's just the 4 of us here, Nathan and I are gonna have a bath together upstairs in the big tub. We can take his cast off, and should as often as we can while he and we are awake so he can reapir the pulled muscles and ligaments and give his broken arm some muscle to it. Not only was it broken, but really cranked on.
The next week we have to start weening him off the Oxy in case of addiction.
My angel baby is waking up! Talk to you all soon. I'm not gonna post or reply much for a few days. I'm going to take some time to enjoy my baby for the first time and hang with Austin too!
Today Nathan is 3 weeks old and weighs 10 lbs on the dot!
Today it is cold. So cold socks alone don't keep your toes warm. It snowed and will on and off all day. The rooftops are lines with a dab of white as well as cars in the driveways. Not long and we will be out for 3 hours a day snow blowing, shoveling, plowing and freezing.
