Date: 11/8/2008 5:40:00 PM From Authorid: 5301 ...Hi Becky. If the smoke alarm is going off, your dinner should be done. Sounds like you have a lot happening right now. I once had upstairs neighbours like that but they started turning the music down at 11 PM after we had a little chat. |

Oh yeah, and during the 'fire scare' I learned that I totally suck in emergency situations. LOL It was night, so both girls were in bed (One sleeping, the other 'working on it') So they weren't dressed to be in the elements. When it happened, the only bag I could find for the cat was the diaper bag, so what do I do? Dump ALL the diapers/baby supplies and shove her in there. *Smacks self* I forgot my purse, the only reason I had my phone was it was in my pocket, cause I had been on the phone earlier. I only remembered to grab my keys, so I could lock up/go to the car. Now had everything burned down....we would have been in serious trouble. With hubby being out of town for the evening. I didn't have my purse, so I had no money. And no ID so it's not like I could have had someone wire me some...And remember, I had no baby supplies! yeesh, can I move yet? |
Date: 11/8/2008 6:08:00 PM From Authorid: 5301 ...one time, when the fire alarm went off in the building I used to live in, my older son concerned himself with grabbing his video games so they wouldn't go up in flames. |

Aw, how old was he? I remember when I was younger I'd always run through the steps "I'd grab........" Truth be told if I wasn't alone and had hubby's help I probably would have grabbed as much of my camera equipment as possible. But being I was alone, that was the farthest thing from my mind. now that I think about it, that was not quite 3 weeks after shooting a wedding. So wow, that would have sucked... I really need renters insurance. |
Date: 11/8/2008 6:28:00 PM From Authorid: 5301 ...it was a year ago when he was 11 Becky. He'd probably do the same again if he had the time. |
Date: 11/8/2008 7:21:00 PM From Authorid: 26303 LOL, sounds like all kids think their mothers can't sing. Mine say the same. I tell them I turned down a career to have them. That Idol have begged me to perform. Geez, they don't believe me though. Seriously, you grabbed what was the most important asset, your kids and you saved them and yourself. No point saving a purse with no one to use it. Everything else can be replaced, although heartbreaking, they can be replaced. |
