Well......Since It Is So Quiet Around Here...............................Becky

Maybe I'll rattle things up with a long drawn out update on things. (HA!)

No really I have to brag about my kid for a second. We went to the doctor yesterday (Savannah had her well baby check/shots) and we decided that at that time we'd also get both girls flu shots. Reason being is the past few years I've gotten increasingly sicker in the winter, last year I was even hospital bound. So...needless to say, anything that might cut my chances I'll take. ;) (And yeah I had my shot last month!)

So anyway Celeste didn't flinch, whine or anything. I was SHOCKED....:) (She handled her shot better than I did mine!) Brag over.

Wanna hear something funny?

On Thursday, Celeste was watching The grinch.....(A little early, I know. But it's better than Finding nemo for the 5,000,000,000th time) And I couldn't help but sing along to their 'where are you christmas' song.

Right ok, not loud, more under my breath...

Celeste: 'STOP SINGING'

Me: 'still singing'

Celeste: "I TOLD YOU STOP SINGING'

Me: "What, am I that bad?"

Celeste: 'YES, I TOLD YOU STOP SINGING'

Guess American Idol isn't in my future huh?

Life's been so blah lately, we're waiting on a potential job for hubby...it really sucks sitting on pins and needless just waiting for that letter to find out if he advanced (All signs point to yes!).

We got new upstairs neighbors recently (Aug/Sept) they are PARTY animals. They kept waking my kids at all hours of the night. And ya know...I'm not one for conflict. Each night went like this 'This is the last night, they do it again I'm calling the cops' Over and over and over....(I'm too nice).

About two weeks ago we went out to my parents and arrived back at the rat cage (HA!) at midnight and they were going at it.

I had my first experience calling the police! I was so tired of it, seriously. I should have done it ages ago, why? Cause they've been QUIET ever since! Bliss. Now too bad Savannah isn't sleeping through the night! (I had her to that point about, and then they moved in and screwed things up again).

Shucks.

Did I mention that two months ago the people across the hall (think motel like setting, our front doors are inside a hall) set their unit on fire? Yeah I was alone with the girls that night. Ever try and shove a cat into a diaper bag? Ummmmmmmmm NO easy feat (there was no way to carry her out in the carrier, take the dog and carry both kids!) THANKFULLY their unit was the only one damaged. And needless to say they moved out shortly after that.

I can say one thing, I hate apartment life with a passion, and won't miss it when I finally have a place to call my own, but......it does keep me on my toes!

I think Dinner is about done, I could go on and on about life's current adventures though....I have to save SOME funnies for later though!

Becky (One year older, not much wiser as of tomorrow LOL)

Date: 11/8/2008 5:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...Hi Becky. If the smoke alarm is going off, your dinner should be done. Sounds like you have a lot happening right now. I once had upstairs neighbours like that but they started turning the music down at 11 PM after we had a little chat.
Date: 11/8/2008 6:02:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    Oh yeah, and during the 'fire scare' I learned that I totally suck in emergency situations. LOL

It was night, so both girls were in bed (One sleeping, the other 'working on it') So they weren't dressed to be in the elements.

When it happened, the only bag I could find for the cat was the diaper bag, so what do I do? Dump ALL the diapers/baby supplies and shove her in there. *Smacks self* I forgot my purse, the only reason I had my phone was it was in my pocket, cause I had been on the phone earlier. I only remembered to grab my keys, so I could lock up/go to the car.

Now had everything burned down....we would have been in serious trouble. With hubby being out of town for the evening. I didn't have my purse, so I had no money. And no ID so it's not like I could have had someone wire me some...And remember, I had no baby supplies!

yeesh, can I move yet?

Date: 11/8/2008 6:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...one time, when the fire alarm went off in the building I used to live in, my older son concerned himself with grabbing his video games so they wouldn't go up in flames.
Date: 11/8/2008 6:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    Aw, how old was he?

I remember when I was younger I'd always run through the steps "I'd grab........"

Truth be told if I wasn't alone and had hubby's help I probably would have grabbed as much of my camera equipment as possible. But being I was alone, that was the farthest thing from my mind. now that I think about it, that was not quite 3 weeks after shooting a wedding. So wow, that would have sucked...

I really need renters insurance.

Date: 11/8/2008 6:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...it was a year ago when he was 11 Becky. He'd probably do the same again if he had the time.
Date: 11/8/2008 7:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 26303    LOL, sounds like all kids think their mothers can't sing. Mine say the same. I tell them I turned down a career to have them. That Idol have begged me to perform. Geez, they don't believe me though. Seriously, you grabbed what was the most important asset, your kids and you saved them and yourself. No point saving a purse with no one to use it. Everything else can be replaced, although heartbreaking, they can be replaced.
Date: 11/8/2008 9:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    You got to love the kids and the things they say Becky...you sure have had a lot going on in your life and where you live!!!! oh well, hope your dinner was good lol!!!
