At Collfax Ghost Town one can encounted thhe "Weeping Lady of Colfax" who usually appears in the back row of the combination church and schoolhouse there. Her spirit still grieves for her ten-year-old son, who died of an unknown illness in the late 180s. Inconsolable grief killed the mother within a month of her sons death.Hauck,p.282

At Dawson Cemetry, an old silver boomtown cemetry, you might stumble over the ghosts of miners killed in cave-ins. Two seperate mining disasters killed most of the men in Dawson, which was abandoned at the turn of the century. It is said that the light from their bright carbide lights can be seen hovering above their graves at night. Hauck,p.283.

Just recently there was a service for all the miners who perished at the turn of the century, I believe nearly 200 of them in a mine about 3hrs from where I live. When you think about it, mining accidents from those times would have been shocking with little or no means of getting them out. Poor men and boys..
